My Brutally Fun Prediction: Ikaruga
With less than 24 hours left to crack the code, speculation has been running wild circles around the tubes in an effort to uncover the true meaning behind the phrase "Brutally Fun".
Based on the color scheme (red/black), the timing of the countdown coming very close to the typical Wednesday release time for XBLA games, and the fact that this game is brutal but fun (or so I hear), my prediction is the release of Ikaruga.
That's all I got. Go ahead and prep your statements of ridicule for when I'm so wrong it hurts. If only just the idea of this being true hadn't gotten my hopes up.

As for it being Speedball 2, that's seeming unlikely as Eurogamer have just reported that it will only be released in October (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=83113).

I don't think the color
I don't think the color scheme gives off an Ikaruga vibe at all, given the fact that the colors for that game are black and white.
I'm also going to go on a limb and say it's not going to be an arcade game. Although Speedball 2 makes sense, but I'm not sure why MS would go out of their way to make a specific announcement and a timer for it. I'm going to bet it's for Ninja Gaiden 2, actually.

I'm pretty sure that this particular color scheme is actually hinting that Microsoft has purchased the Virtual Boy library from nintendo, and will start selling Goggles soon.

Now that the Ninja Gaiden 2
Now that the Ninja Gaiden 2 screens leaked, I'm starting to think it's that, too.
Sure Ikaruga was black and
Sure Ikaruga was black and white but the black is surrounded by a red ring and the white is surrounded by a blue ring.
But ultimately, my horribly wild guess was just for fun and I see plenty of other (read: better) suggestions floating around. Ninja Gaiden 2 would be an appropriately HUGE announcement for TGS...but I thought Itagaki had some new IP action game that he was doing *before* NG2.
He had said the schedule was DOA4, DOAX2, Untitled action game, then maybe NG2.
We shall see shortly.

A new Ninja Gaiden seems
A new Ninja Gaiden seems plausable, but so does Dead Samurai.
Personally I hope for Dead Samurai as it means the beginning of the XBLA contest winners being released.
No real clue of what the title will be though.

Just a wild guess but I'm thinking along the lines of Speedball 2: BRUTAL Deluxe. As for the Japanese theme....no clue, maybe for TGS?
