“Track & Field” Sprints to Xbox LIVE Arcade This Wednesday
Get ready for hot Arcade nights! Building off of last Wednesday’s launch of “Marathon: Durandal” and “Spyglass Board Games,” August and the rest of the summer are shaping up to be scorching hot on Xbox LIVE Arcade. Perfect for whittling away the long days of summer are a bevy of unique sports games, classic and futuristic fighting games, as well as a few other surprises, all of which will be making their way to Xbox LIVE Arcade in the coming weeks.
This Xbox LIVE Arcade Wednesday, gamers can log virtual track time and exercise their fingers and thumbs with the highly anticipated “Track & Field” from Konami. Originally released in 1983, Track & Field was an arcade smash. The updated version for Xbox LIVE Arcade features the same button mashing game mechanic as the original, and now allows for up to four player multiplayer competition on one Xbox 360 or over Xbox LIVE. Clocking in at 400 Microsoft Points, “Track & Field” will be available to download on Xbox LIVE Arcade this Wednesday, August 8 beginning at 9:00 a.m. GMT (2:00 a.m. PDT).

Of the 3 August titles, War World and Ecco the Dolphin are looking good for purchases.
Space Girraffe and Geon are looking good for my points also.
Pity Switchball was not mentioned. Thats looking good. As for Sensible Soccer and Speedball, I can not wait much longer.
Just got this off the SWOS boards posted today Aug 6th by admin rubbergenius...
"At the moment I don't have a "set in stone" release date for you - as soon as I do (literally, the minute I can say for sure) I'll let you know.
I'm personally hoping it's the 29th (August) as the lads mentioned at the Open Day, but I can't say for sure at the moment as a. it's not been completely confirmed by MS, and b. I'm ultra-cautious when it comes to release dates as they can and do change."

Glad I stocked up on points recently.
Space Giraffe I have been waiting for since I got a 360.
Warworld I have been anticipating, but recent previews all say it is a bit different from the PC version. Hopefully betteras the original did have a few clipping issues and such.
Geon I am interested in after seeing it on here, Puzzle Quest is a fairly certain buy for me as is Super Puzzle Fighter.
Streets of Rage and Ecco are also likely purchases since I assume they are going to stay at the Sega standard of 400 points.
Hexic 2 may surprise me, but it just isn't looking that addictive to me so far. The first is alright, but nothing I would have paid for.
In the weeks a head is rather generic. We may get double headers, well I have hope anyway.

I wouldn't count out dual release wednesdays. There's no mention of retro games in this release, but they will keep coming as well.

Straight from the Llamma's mouth on Space Giraffe:
we have passed "compliance cert".
Now we have another week of "functional cert".

Which if you didn't know is Jeff Minter of Llamasoft's Livejournal.
So other up coming week titles may also be partially through certification.

Oh that reminds me...
Where is the info on Word Puzzle from the E3 XBLA trailer?!?!?!

Actually that is one of the games which interests me. I own four different versions of Scrabble at this point.

Out of those games listed, the only ones I'm really looking forward to are Streets of Rage 2 and War World.
And where is Street Trace NYC anyways? That game is a long time coming, but atleast we know it's coming at some point since it seems pretty far along (and has seemed that way for a long time now.)

My theory on Street Trace:NYC was that it ran into some cert troubles...and then EA was pushing Gaia to get Wing Commander out the door...so ST:NYC got put on the back burner for a while. Now their back in the polish/cert phase (which everyone knows can take forever).
Just my theory.
