My eyes are not deceiving me. Snuck in at the bottom of this week's press release was one sentence about Pinball FX receiving new downloadable content. There is also zero information about the table(s); however, due to the wonderful world of the internets we know that there is an animal themed table on the way in addition to two (?) other tables. Who knows which one this week we will get, but we will let you know when we do get an update on this.
One of my biggest pet peeves about XBLA is the way in which Title Updates and DLC is treated by Microsoft. It seems that if the developer doesn't push it as hard as they can, it gets regulated to the bottom of the weekly what's coming out this week press release. Even when we actively attempt to get information out of Microsoft sometimes we hit a brick wall (like with just about every XBLA title update).
Ok enough of me bitching and complaining...
Luckily, in the case of DLC, the developers are happy to talk about what's coming out, as can be seen in these fantastic screen shots for the recently released Nightmare Mansion table for PinballFX:
Well, we told you about it last week, but the download is finally here. As of today, if you head to Xbox Live Marketplace, a free Pinball FX table will be awaiting everyone. The Buccaneer expansion table will feature an obvious pirate theme, multiple new game modes, and a new achievement. I'm quite surprised about that last bullet point as we previously hadn't known about the "Ball Madness" achievement worth 10 gamerscore.
What did you think of the table?
Regardless of what the Gamerscore Blog says in this weeks XBLA Press Release, Zen will NOT be releasing the first DLC for PinballFX this week. Word coming via GamingTalkHQ is stating that a new table, dubbed "Buccaneer" will instead be released next week (Oct. 31st). The price for it seems to be 200 points which I'm sure more than one person will scoff at, but seems reasonable to me if they put the same amount of detail as they put into the existing tables.
So are those of you who loved the first three tables going to be picking this up, or has the love affair cooled?
it's 200 points not 400, sorry
[UPDATED AGAIN] This story is getting better and better, GamingTalkHQ now has word that the new table will be absolutely FREE

Zen Studios have just launched the official game site for the upcoming XBLA Title Pinball FX. While the fact that Aaron Greenberg mentioned that we would be seeing a pinball title on the service back in May, not much has been known about the title. That is until now, the game will ship with 3 tables (more being available for download as DLC), and here's a look at them (click the thumbnail for the full shot):
During his interview with Major Nelson Aaron Greenberg was talking up some of the new games types that will be coming to XBLA, including totem ball, gesture based games and "A pinball game". While that's all the info available right now, I know of quite a few pinball freaks that this will please.
You can check it out here (the list is at about 36:45)
