I know it must be hard to have any 'tips' for a simple game like this, but is there a trick or something? I keep getting pwn3d online, and I am too busy watching my side to pay attention to my opponent. Is it a practice makes perfect, like Lumines?

I keep pwning online, so maybe I can help you out with a few tips ;) This is the first time I've played any game in the Puzzle Fighter series, so I'm not very experienced and some of the things I say may be wrong, but it has worked for me this far anyway.

1. Always instant-drop (press up) the blocks. Speed is essential for this game.

2. You actually don't need to watch the opponent's side. Focus on your own instead.

3. Don't just try to build one huge block. I think it's easier for a beginner to build more but smaller.

Then there are more advanced techniques like setting up combos and make use of each character's unique pattern, but that isn't really neccesary if you're quick enough.

plurre gave most of the available hints. combos are the most important part of breaking down your gems. also, get used to reading the timing on the junk cubes sent to you. sometimes putting a breaker next to a countdown gem will result in a serious chain.
