Scramble now available

Konami has finally released it's 80s side scroller Scramble. Available as the latest entry to XBLA Wednesday, it's available for just 400 points. While I'm sure Scramble will scratch many peoples retro itch, am I alone in far preferring Defender?

I've never even heard of scramble before it's XBLA announcement. I'll get the demo... but I have no idea what to expect.

And I consider myself a expert on 80's arcade games... at the time, my Dad was a arcade game repairman, so I played just abut everything back then... maybe I'll recognize it when I see it.

Meh.

XBLA cheifs talk "Quality over quantity" and then give us a smattering of questionable quality titles... Smash TV, I can see, Joust, I can see. Both provided quality that sequels never exceeded. (acutally I think "Total Carnage" would work well as an XBLA title).

But take a look at Pacman for example... Sure the game was revolutionary at the time, but the follow up "Ms. Pacman" was far superior. I know, I know, it's been announced for the XBLA as well, but I thought we were going for "quality, not quantity" Just give us Ms. Pacman and be done with it already! bah!

I'm going back to gpokr now. Thanks for letting me rant.
