Should price be one of the main factors in buying an xbla title?

Ever since Braid, this arguement has come up time and time again. "15$ is too much for game A, Game B should've never been 10$"

Should price be one of the main factors when buying an xbla game? I would think the quality of Braid would warrant the 15$. But for some people, crossing the 15$ threshhold automatically means the game's overpriced. I mean, why buy a 15$ game, when you can buy an 400 ms points game (small arms, doom) and a 800 ms points game like Ikaruga?

Price is a factor for me,

Price is a factor for me, but $10 is extremely reasonable for a quality game. Even $15 is okay if it's a good game. That said, most of the games that carry the dreaded 1200 ($15) price point aren't very good. On the other hand, $10 for gems like Ikaruga or Rez seem like a steal.

Price for me is a factor,

Price for me is a factor, but only in relation to the quality of the game. I'll pay $10 or $15 if the game is worth it but other times not pay $5 for some of the lame stuff they put out.

Yup. Generally speaking the $15 games are due to ego and not quality. Yes, that includes Braid.

Roboblitz is actually a good game, but I have no idea why it is 1200 points (it is still is it not?). I got it on Steam for $5 and found the game to be fun, but lacking in replay. It was more than worth the $5 and out shines a lot of other games which cost double or triple that on XBLA.

Definitely.

Absolutely it's a factor to me, and that may be in large part because of it's electronic 'download only' nature. I am less inclined to spend $15 on an arcade game when I can (developers cover your ears) buy a used retail game from a wide variety of sources for the same price. Usually a longer game, more gamerscore, plus I can lend/trade/sell it...

It's odd, since I have spent 800 points a few times on map packs and whatnot to keep up with friends and others who play game X or game Y. I found the 400/800 price points were good - I purchased more games when those were the norms then I have since they pretty much died. It was really tough to get Castle Crashers at the high price point; but friends recommended it ('course then it was broken, but that's another story).
