20GB HDD to 60GB HDD Problems

20GB HDD to 60GB HDD Problems

FIRST.... If you are going to upgrade your Xbox 360 HDD, buy a 120GB. The transfer cable ONLY comes with the 120GB HDD. The 60GB comes with another wired headset and a 3 month Xbox LIVE Gold Membership.

In my recent problems with the 20GB HDD to 60GB HDD transfer using a memory unit (needed for saved games, gamerpics, and themes) I have noticed that not only has my Official Xbox Magazine (OXM) Universe been reset to zero, but I am missing Xbox LIVE Arcade games.... and NOT the ones that have de-listed (Lost Cities, Street Fighter II Hyper Fighter, Yaris, or Speedball 2).

Be warned before you buy and definately ask questions. This forum topic should be a good place to ask those questions without the typical Microsoft / Xbox response.

What should I do? What would YOU do?

I would get a hold of xbox

I would get a hold of xbox and see if they can maybe issue you some codes to reinstall those games or reimburse you so you can get the 120GB HD

HDD Transfers are special

HDD Transfers are special in their design between a 20GB to a new drive; whether it be 20-to-60, 20-to-120, 60-to-120.

Notice I never mentioned a drive lower than the upgrade? That's because you can't do it. No matter what... get the 120 HDD with the transfer cable. Don't ask questions.... just install it (my original sentence was copyrighted by a well known shoe company - go figure).

Here is another piece of advise.... BOOKMARK XBLARCADE.COM

Can't you just re-download

Can't you just re-download the Arcade games that didn't make the jump? Should show up in your purchase history and give you the option to "Download Again?"

Tried that...

Tried that and it still says I have never owned Hexic 2 even though I have achievements for it. Perhaps it came with my 360... hmmmm.

I Had Hexic HD that came

I Had Hexic HD that came with my original 360. Somehow when I got my new 360 (other one E74) It got erased from my HD. Since it came with my 360(kind of like worms with my memory card) I had never downloaded it before so I couldn't even try and re-download. I called 1-800-4myxbox and talked to them about it. after about 15min they gave me a new code to DL it. So try calling Xbox up.

I've read on various

I've read on various forums that you can call Microsoft and they will send you a transfer cable. It's worth a shot.

I don't understand why they can't include the transfer cable with the 60GB. I guess it's intended for arcade owners who don't have a hard drive.
