Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. has revealed some details and screenshots from the upcoming fast-action puzzle role-playing game, Puzzle Chronicles for Xbox LIVE® Arcade. Set in the dark and savage lands of the Ashurin Empire, players are challenged to journey among powerful lords and mystical creatures, while adventuring on quests and collecting powerful new equipment and skills.

Puzzle Chronicles begins as you enter the dark and savage lands of the Asharin Empire as you battle to avenge the atrocities the Empire brought upon your tribesmen. On your challenging quest you will fight fierce beasts and battle hardened warriors with a new puzzle combat mechanics that will test your skills. This new puzzle combat system is based on real time action so players will have to think fast and posses sound strategies to best their opponents.

As you progress through the adventure you will level up your character through a diverse skill tree full of magical and physical attacks. Players can collect a wide variety of weapons and armor by winning them in combat and purchasing them at vendors. Players can also venture into the depths of the many dungeons to search for rare and powerful items. Expanding on the already high replay value of the main storyline, players can challenge your friends to duels, level up your character in Quick Battles, or play Mini-Games to unlock new spells, items, or potions.

Players assume the role of a hero fighting to avenge the atrocities brought upon fellow tribesmen by the Emperor Al-Dirag of the Ashurin Empire. Aided by a pet Warbeast and a mysterious sorceress, players embark on an expedition to free their fellow tribesmen, who were taken as slaves, and exact retribution on their enemies. To succeed in their adventure, gamers must complete a series of quests across various locations including battlefields, slave camps, desert crypts and the palace of the tyrannical Emperor.

Full of entertaining characters and enchanting environments, the new puzzle combat system is based on real time action as players have to think fast and act strategically in order to defeat their opponents. Adding to the replay value, gamers will have the opportunity to battle sinister wizards, huge monsters, and evil overlords in Quick Battle mode. Gamers can level up their character through a diverse skill tree full of magical and physical attacks as well as level up their Warbeast. As another way to enjoy the game, players can challenge their friends to multiplayer battles across the internet on the Xbox LIVE Arcade.
