The recently released Tomb Raider Anniversary for the PS2 (with an upcoming Wii version, as well) could very well be reaching XBLA as downloadable content, since the game has been reported by the ESRB for the 360 but split up with 5 subtitles, which relate to the levels found in the game.

This could be big. Really big. (Since there's no kind of episodic content on the 360 as of yet, and you figure that the Sam & Max guys also want to put their game on XBLA as well) This could mean big things in the future, perhaps.

Of course, it could also just be DLC within the 360 version of Legends. But it's fun to think about, right?

Looks like I'll need to clear some room off my hard drive.

I've been hoping we'd get this game on a disc with the same graphical upgrades as Legend, but this is the next best thing. It was looking like there wouldn't be a 360 version at all.

It will be interesting to see how they handle the timing, pricing, etc. I doubt they would call it a part of Xbox Live Arcade, but where would they put a downloadable game? (assuming it's not Legend DLC)

I doubt this will be released on XBLA, as it doesn't seem to fit the mission of the XBLA too well, being that this is a retail release on other platforms.... If it is, though, how interesting.

I'll say it again, if MS were to allow me to rent retail games through XBOX Live, I'd gladly stop sending gamefly my money. I wouldn't even care if I had the same restrictions, and could only have two games playable at one time.

I agree. I have a feeling they'll release some sort of new service for large titles, but then again I could be wrong.

It will definitely be interesting to see if they create a new brand image for larger games. I'm of the mind that they won't differentiate it from XBLA. I say that just because they've spent so much time building that brand image. And they've also spent so much money building it. So, they might just leverage their mind share and expand the idea of XBLA to include larger downloadable titles.
