XBLA On Your PC This Holiday?

Destructoid is adding fuel to a fire (they say they've seen it...maybe) created over at CVG about the possiblity of XBLA titles arriving on your PC this year. Then again, it looks like it started at 1UP.

The offending quote from 1UP:

In November, Microsoft will roll out a developer update for their Games For Windows Live tools in anticipation of Xbox Live Arcade games rolling out in "holiday 07." The panel did not, however, reveal what games will make the leap from Xbox 360 to PC.

So, it looks like David Edery wasn't just blowing smoke when he answered my questions about Live Anywhere.

If this is true there are many more questions to be answered. What games will be available (besides UNO)? Will cross-platform play work immediately? Will you buy the game once and own it on both platforms?

What do you all think?

If they make it possible to

If they make it possible to play the games on both XBLA and PC (without any repurchasing, losing any progress, etc.), I'll totally get stoked for this news.

I hope this isn't the beginning of an attempt to monopolize digital distribution on the PC.

"I hope this isn't the beginning of an attempt to monopolize digital distribution on the PC."

Ha, that is already built into Vista. It is more of a second round of attempts.

However, if I can get access to all my XBLA games on my laptop while signed into Live on my PC it would be nice. I kinda doubt that will happen however since then a friend could be playing on an actual Xbox with a gold account playing games purchased by a friend on their console while the true owner of the game plays on a PC logged into Live.

I explained that poorly, but I think you know what I mean.

I agree with Blue Falcon on

I agree with Blue Falcon on this. Without doing all of that, it would really just be like indie PC games are now, except with Live Rich Presence and achievements.

Maybe BoB PC will be one of the games announced for it?

Random quesiton, but will XBLArcade be covering the PC Arcade (Code named Vega) stuff? I mean, the name refers to the Xbox, but it would be a good place to cover it.

Sorry for this taking so

Sorry for this taking so long, but I'm pretty sure we will be covering them in one way or another. It all depends on how it plays out.
