Indie Darling Braid Possibly Coming to XBLA

Indie darling Braid is a game that even before the majority of the public had seen the game had a huge fan following and received critical acclaim. It's good to hear that Joystiq makes note in their E3 preview of the game that Jonathon Blow, who is the creator of Braid, is in talks with Microsoft to put the game on Xbox Live Arcade. Sadly it is mentioned that no deal has been signed, but here's to hoping.

For more information about the game head to the official Braid site or Joystiq's preview. Joystiq also currently has up a screenshot gallery.

Udon Street Fighter Interview

Playstation 3 Fanboy has performed an interview with Udon Comics about their work in Super Street Fighter II HD Remix. It really is quite amazing what they have done to the Street Figher graphics with the new re-envisioning of the title. Below is one of the better questions from the interview.

Quote:
Certainly, there must be a lot of work involved with this remix. How much art is going into the game?

Our art crew was asked to redesign each character sprite based on the artwork of Edayan, one of Capcom's most respected artists. Our job is to create character model design sheets for the sprite animators to follow.

The game is an exact port of SSF2T, so the hit boxes and poses must be identical, even while the detail and resolution are increased to approximately 4.5 times the original. Along with character sprite designs, we're redrawing and painting each stage background to match the enhanced resolution.

In addition to the characters and stages, our art team is creating brand new artwork for the in-game intro, character selection and endings in the style of our popular Street Fighter comic. The project is a massive undertaking, far more extensive than our work on Capcom Fighting Jam.

SPFIITHDR Site Now Live; Acronym Lovers Faint With Joy

If you hate those smarmy sites, people like to call "blogs" (yuck) and avoid them under all circumstances (I know I do) then you will be pleased to learn the following: you can finally get your Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix news straight from the corporate marketing team at Capcom.

That's right, the official site is now open for business and sports a synopsis, screens, videos, and wallpaper downloads. Of course, the site also seems to take issue with scrolling down (huh?) but we won't let that sully our love for SPFIITHDR. Oh no. We will lap up any and all scraps of info on this puzzlicious game we can get our hands on. Mmm...puzzlicious.

USK Watch: Speedball 2 and War World

War World and Speedball 2 rated. No fanfare or big surprise there (since we already knew they were coming) but it's good to know nonetheless.

War World garnered what I take to be a 12+ rating and Speedball 2 gets a 6+ rating. (Although, German is not my strong suit.) No word yet on the ESRB.
