Need some tips to get started on OSRS? Then here is what you need to know to get underway with the MMO.
If you are going to step into Old School Runescape for the first time, then there’s a few things that you will want to know. From everything to getting started to working with OSRS gold, here is a handful of tips to help you get started with the popular title.
Beginning the Game
When you are starting out, you will be making your character to decide on its appearance, after which you will make your way to Tutorial Island. Here you will be walked through the basics of the game, which ranges from the skills within and how the combat system works. So you will be learning about combat and survival, and once you have finished you will make your way to Lumbridge.
If you feel like you have entered this area a bit early, then fear not as there are still tutors around here if you do want to learn more. You will also find an Ironman tutor here, but if you are a new player then you should probably avoid this for now.
It is recommended that you set a bank pin at this stage. By doing so, you will be able to keep items that you have stored protected in case anything ever happens to your account. To do this, go to the top floor of Lumbridge Castle where you will find the bank, and choose PIN settings when speaking to the bank teller. After this, we are ready to head into Gielinor.
OSRS Skills
When playing OSRS, you will have a number of skills for you to raise the level of. If you are a non-member, then you will have access to 15 skills. If you would like to know more about the skills in terms of the level its at and how much experience you need to get it to the next level. It will also give you an indication of what items and abilities you will get at the next level if you click on them.
You will be heading into your first dungeon next, so head to the Barbarian Village to the west of Varrock. There you will find the Stronghold of Security, which is split between four floors with a range of monsters for you to encounter. Each level has a reward room that has 10,000 OSRS GP and a new emote to unlock. In the final reward room, you will get the choice between combat or fancy boots. If you choose the combat boots and you want to focus on combat itself, then you will find a field of goblins over the River Lum to the east.
Starting Quests
This is another vital part of you starting out in OSRS. By questing you will be exploring the many locations of the game and what Is has to offer, whilst earning experience along the way. Since you are in Lumbridge to start off with, you will find a bunch of beginners OSRS quests that will serve as an introduction to some skills as well. Sheep Shearer for example will give you a first look at crafting, and you will need to check out Rune Mysteries so that you can unlock Runecrafting.
If you do happen to struggle with a quest, then you can open the journal and select the quest from the Quest Log. By doing so, you will be able to see the stops you have taken so far, and will give you an idea of your next task. Each OSRS quest will have requirements for you to complete, and you could also be given an idea of the monsters that you might have to face.
Earning Currency
There is wealth of ways in which you can make OSRS gold throughout the game. This will be from questing, selling items at the Grand Exchange, defeating bosses, and much more. Some even choose to buy OSRS gold, but if you are going to find somewhere online that does have OSRS gold for sale then make sure that they are a reputable seller. Keep an eye on customer reviews and if they have a customer chat available so you know that you are getting the relevant customer service that you need.
With all this being said, you should now be ready to get started on your journey in Old School Runescape. There is plenty for you to be getting on with from the very start, so go ahead and begin your adventure into OSRS.
