Certain Affinity

Insert Booty Joke Here: Plunder Video and Hands-On

Perhaps with all the talk (and crazy videos) surrounding Ninja Gaiden 2, you have forgotten that the pirate following should not be taken lightly.  Sure ninjas move faster than you can see but who wants to pick a fight with a peg leg, a hook, and a nasty set of teeth?  Not me.  But, I digress.

Pirates and real-time strategy get a mashup in Plunder, the Pirate-themed RTS game from Certain Affinity and Capcom.  (See what I did there?)  To dig deeper you can head over to IGN for a preview, but before you go check out the gameplay footage below.

Certain Affinity announce Plunder

certain_affinity_logo In the latest edition of EGM (April) is a preview of a title that can only be described as a hardcore gamers wet dream...

Gameplay influenced by the fantastic Settlers of Catan, Multiplayer designed by engineers that worked on the Halo series, 4 player local split-screen and 8 player online play, in one article this game has already generated more buzz than many games do in their entire lifecycle.

If you're thinking that this sounds too good to be true and have been burnt before by EGM April Fools day madness, worry not.  We have contacted Certain Affinity and have gotten the good word that this is not some cruel joke.

In a somewhat interesting turn, the game will be published by none other than Capcom.  In keeping with their new "policy" of having three months publicity time for XBLA titles, we should be expecting the title some time in June of this year.
