Mad Tracks Multiplayer is "is done and it's great".
Everyone's favorite french indie developer Load Inc has been working hard to bring customers what they want. When Mad Tracks was first announce, it was not going to include any online multiplayer component. After many complaints, Load Inc decided to add the feature.
Over in the xboxic forums, Denis Bourdain, VP Business Dev at Load Inc, has stated that "we had a pretty good first overall review from the test team at Microsoft." and when pressed about the multiplayer component, he said: " Multiplayer is done and it's great, thanks."
Also at xboxic, are 5 new screenshots of the multiplayer menu interface.
With the game being so close to complete, here's hoping that we see a 2006 release.
Eternity's Child to hit "Spring 2007"
ILoveXBLA noticed recently that the XBLA wiki page has been updated to include yet another upcoming title; Eternity's Child. While all that's known about this title so far is that it's based off the works of Luke Bernard, and that it's scheduled for release in Spring 2007, the artwork on the official page is certainly intriguing.
For those of you who speak french there's an interview with Luke Bernard here. For those who don't, there is always babelfish.
We'll post more as soon as the info becomes available.
XBLA info from GTR at Digital Life
Godfree and Pink Sage over at Gamertag Radio have done a great job of reporting a tonne of info from Digital Life in NYC. Along with their podcast with tonnes of impressions and info, Godfree has posted 3 new videos on YouTube (it's a bit of a shaky cam, but it'll certainly do).
They are:
With the slowdown of info lately, it's great to hear, and see, these games. You can check out the Gamertag Radio podcast here.More id titles to come?
It seems like we'll be seeing more Id titles in the future for the XBLA service. According to an e-mail received by Firing Squad, id's CEO Todd Hollenshead had the following to say
We're looking at bringing some of the other games to XLA, but a lot is going to depend on the response to DOOM. From what MS tells us, its been fantastic so far, which bodes well for other id "classics" to be released there. But there's nothing concrete. Making the surprise announcement at X06 for DOOM worked out great, so I'll be tight lipped about anything specific for now :)
Considering how DOOM topped this weeks top 10 XBLA titles, I'd say chances are pretty good. The second bit that he brings up is that of when the title got announced; What would you prefer, a specific in advance release date, or to be surprised?
Dig Dug now available
Continuing along with their XBLA Wednesdays promotion, Microsoft and Namco have released the 1982 classic Dig Dug. Weighing in at just under 12MB it's the smallest XBLA title that I can remember, and those of you who like to pinch their MS points, will be happy with the 400 point price.
XBLArcade.com Leaderboard
Thanks to Morgon and the whole MyGamercard.net team, XBLArcade.com now has a Gamer Score Leaderboard. I've taken the liberty of adding all the members of XBLArcade.com who have set up there gamertag as part of their profile. If you would like to be added or removed from this list, just let me know.

Midway announces UMK3 release timeframe.
It was known for quite some time that the live arcade service would be the latest battle ground for two of the biggest fighting franchises to duke it out.
Capcom launched first in August with Street Fighter II which came out to mixed reviews. It seems that everyone complained about something, if it wasn't the 360's D-pad, it was the lag, if it wasn't the 4:3 aspect ratio, it was people using the hundred hand slap. The good news for Capcom though, was that it sold like crazy, quickly becoming one of the fastest selling XBLA games to date.
According to Gamespot, Midway will be launching Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 this November. Will they learn from the mistakes of their foe and have spotless online multiplayer? It's certainly far to early to tell. From the screenshots I've seen, they seem to have gone with the wide screen aspect ration which should quite a few detractors (although how this will change the game dynamic is yet to be seen).
I for one bought SFII and will happily buy UMK3 and if it weren't for the fact that I regularly get my butt handed to me by people who have barely ever played the game, I'd challenge you all :)
You can check out Gamespot's story here.
TotemBall coming tomorrow, It's Offical!
Well the first of many gesture based games for XBLA will be available tomorrow as part of Microsoft's XBLA Wednesdays. The info for the release was just posted on Major Nelson's blog, and does state what everyone already knew, that it'll be free.
While it may be a disappointment for those who don't have the camera, it's good to at least see something come out.
You can check out the post here.
Duke Nukem to XBLA a possiblitiy
Kotaku has been busy pouring over the 3D realms forums and has found a few interesting quotes from their staff:
You'd be surprised what they've turned down. Don't just assume MS will want it just because you like it, and it's popular. Hate to sound defeatiest, but it's not as easy as "send it to Micorosoft and get it on there". It's a rather complicated procedure, and MS is fairly picky about what goes on there.
...
Sorry to sound so defeatist, but individual users won't do much of anything. Now if you could get something on the order of a million people to do the same thing, that might be different, but talking to one person like that isn't going to do anything.
Besides, if you can think of it, they already have - I'd bet on it. Plus as I said above, we've already talked about it ourselves. I talked about this yesterday with George, he's all up for the idea, but we don't have the time to do the port ourselves, plus there's the issue of whetther Microsoft would really want it. Don't just assume they would, there's a big submissions procedure to go through. Plus their release schedule is booked solid for quite awhile now, even if we delivered it to them today, I would imagine it wouldnt' come out for awhile anyway.
Looking through the thread, the most promising quote to me is this one:
It's already been discussed here. Whether it happens or not I can't say. It's ultimately up to Microsoft as to whether they want it or not.
It seems to me that if it's just up to MS to give it the OK, then they'd better get on it as I'm sure that Sony, trying to get their own system up and running would be only too happy to see this happen.
Dig Dug and TotemBall Achievements announced
Achieve360Points.com has put up the list of Achievements that we can expect for both Dig Dug and TotemBall. While it is still unknown when we will actually see these games, I'm sure the Achievement Whores out there will be happy for the information.
