Small Arms
Small Arms forum up on XBox.com
In a move that hopefully is a sign of what will come out next week, Microsoft has opened up a new forum for the upcoming indie game, Small Arms. While this is certainly no guarantee that the game will be next (or even that it will be released anytime soon), it is certainly something that will get peoples hopes up (Mine included).
You can check out the forum here.
XBLA info from GTR at Digital Life
Godfree and Pink Sage over at Gamertag Radio have done a great job of reporting a tonne of info from Digital Life in NYC. Along with their podcast with tonnes of impressions and info, Godfree has posted 3 new videos on YouTube (it's a bit of a shaky cam, but it'll certainly do).
They are:
With the slowdown of info lately, it's great to hear, and see, these games. You can check out the Gamertag Radio podcast here.Gamasutra interviews Gastronaut Studios.
With far more in-depth questions than the usual prefab questionnaire some sites have used of late, Gamasutra has a great interview with Jacob Van Wingen, the studio founder of Gastronaut Studios. It covers their first XBLA game (on the original XBox) Fuzzee Fever, achievement design, and managing expectations for would be XNA developers. It's a must read for all of you (myself included) who are eagerly awaiting Small Arms.
You can check out the interview here.
More Small Arms characters revealed
K1lla's Xbox Domain has posted some pictures revealing two more Small Arms character's last night. As one of the most anticipated upcoming XBLA games, we're certainly happy to see any new info about this game.

Small Arms' Innovative Achievement
In an article at MTV ( I still find it odd to get gaming news from MTV ) it was revealed that Small Arms will have an Achievement that it's director calls "Six Degrees of 'Small Arms.' " (it's not yet clear if that will be the actual name of the achievement yet). The way it works is that the four people who work at Gastronaut Studios will initially be the only ones with the Achievement, as soon as someone plays with any of the four, they will also get the achievement. This viral effect will continue on and on, with each new person gaining the achievement and the ability to "spread" the achievement on to others. Another interesting thing is that Microsoft is hedging their bets and making the achievement worth zero points, just in case the spreading doesn't occur as expected.
Personally I love the idea and hope other developers start coming up with unique and interesting achievements.
Small Arms Q&A
Recently we had a chance to ask a few questions of both Jacob Van Wingen (Founder, Director, Programmer) and Don Wurster (Co-Director, Programmer) of Gastronaut Studios.
Check out there answers and some screenshots (although they "aren't final and things are likely to change before release") after the jump

And the E3 videos keep rolling in. This ones not the best of quality, but you can really get a sense of the mayhem going on in the "Super Smash Bros"-esqe Small Arms
"Small Arms" and "Mutant Storm Empire" announced
Microsoft announced today (via their Power Up Digital Magazine) a new game from Gastronaut Studios called Small Arms. Also released was the fact that they have named Mutant Storm 2 to be "Mutant Storm Empire".
Both games are scheduled to be release Summer 2006 (but who knows when they will actually see the light of day).
