Three releases this week?
Well....kinda. This week we will be seeing two titles to download from the XBLA service. Catan, the online version of the classic board game, will run you 800 points, while the Centipede and Millipede combo title, will run you 400. It's great to see Microsoft continue the multiple release Wednesdays and I hope the trend continues for at least a little while longer. On the other hand has anyone else noticed their personal backlog of XBLA titles growing and growing?

Arthropods Attack! “Centipede” and “Millipede” Invade Xbox LIVE Arcade
Two of Atari’s best loved coin-op classics, “Centipede” and “Millipede,” will be available for download on Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360 beginning Wednesday, May 2 at 0900 GMT (2:00 a.m. Pacific).
The classic version of “Centipede” challenges gamers to defend their villages against an onslaught of centipedes, spiders, army ants and more. Xbox LIVE Arcade gamers will also have access to an “Evolved” version which features pre-rendered, high definition graphics, special effects like motion blur, trails and particle-based explosions that make this classic as enjoyable today as it was in the arcade decades ago.
In “Millipede,” the primary challenge is to obliterate chains of arthropods that creep down from the top of the screen. Scattered mushrooms are the gamers’ main tool to shoot, destroy and redirect the menacing millipedes. “Millipede” also offers up Xbox LIVE Arcade gamers an “Evolved” version of this coin-op classic.
“Centipede” and “Millipede” will be available worldwide as a joint download for 400 Microsoft Points and are rated E for Everyone.

I think it's a little silly
I think it's a little silly to call this 3 releases.
Did we get 5 releases last week? I mean, there were 3 different pinball tables, Eets, and Marsho Madness.
re: silly
I completely agree, which is why I put the question marks. The triple release tag was from the PR, not from us :)
.
I know, the comment wasn't
I know, the comment wasn't aimed at you guys. I thought the same thing when I read Major Nelson's headline.
I'm kinda thinking of getting the 'pede combo just because I think it's a great way to release 2 nearly identical classics. It would be cool if it outsold Pacman and Ms Pacman combined, but I really doubt that'll happen.
Argggggh!
And here I just sent my 3rd 360 in for repair! I've been waiting for Catan since *before* they announced it. (x_x)
i think the reason that
i think the reason that peoples 360s break over and over again is because they continue to get the old ones. Sure they are refurbing them but the underlying hardware is still the same. I could be wrong, but that's what it seems like.
I think I'm going to pick up
I think I'm going to pick up the Centipede combo. Is there a large learning curve for Catan?
@ Hexx I agree totally. If
@ Hexx
I agree totally. If it happens one more time, I'm gonna pitch a fit, which I've heard will net me a brand new 360. Maybe I'll wait until Fall when the 65nm processor comes out...sneaky me.
