Is Puzzle Quest Expensive?

In what seems like an obvious price point for a brick-and-mortar retail title, the Xbox Flash Fall email has announced that Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords will be priced at 1200 MS Points. The real question you have to ask to yourself when you gasp at the price point is $15 worth the price of the title for you? I for one think yes considering the title retails for between $19.99 and $29.99 on Amazon. This makes the Xbox Live Arcade and (probably) the PSN version of the game the cheapest way to become addicted to Puzzle Quest.

My thoughts exactly!

The problem with Lumines was that everyone, when playing the trial, got the impression that all the game modes were included. The content itself was reasonably priced. I've played much more Lumines than I've played most of my retail games.

Major Nelson's comments

Major Nelson's comments sections are filled by a legion of whiny, unappreciative prats whose only purpose appears to be to complain, or ask questions, the answers to which the poor man either knows nothing about, or can't talk about because of his NDA. I've stopped reading anything but Major's actual posts.

About Puzzle Quest, I'm quite interested in the game, as I've heard it's really good, but I'm still not sure which would be the best version to pick up. The XBLA version will be the cheapest (I'm usually quick to complain about price, but in this case I have no issues with 1200 points for what is a full retail title on other platforms) and have the best graphics, but I also own a PSP, which usually only sees use when I'm out of town and away from my 360 and PS2, and this sort of game seems ideally suited to portable gaming. It's not like I'm short of retail titles to play on my home consoles at the moment.

There are a bunch of sites

There are a bunch of sites that had posted that this is a ridiculous price point for this game. That's why I posted the entire fact that it is cheaper than any other version of the game. Ridiculous I say!

@ Gnort

I'd say, give the XBLA demo a shot. Then you'll know how the basic game works. At that point ask yourself if you'd be getting the PSP version just cuz you want to validate your PSP or is it because you'd rather have the flexibility of playing this on the road? Your answer should give you a clear indication of which one to buy. (^_^)

People that say the price is ridiculous have zero perspective and are probably 12 years old. LOL.

The PSP version has some

The PSP version has some rather annoying bugs. Some bonuses are not always applied to the player but work consistently for the opponents. Some items prevent other slots from being calculated at all. It is still fun, but can get very frustrating to lose due to a programming error.

Hopefully the XBLA version will not have these issues. The DS version didn't have near as many bugs as the PSP release and the PC demo seemed to not suffer either.
