Deja Vu? No new game this week
In what's becoming a really annoying trend, according to Gamerscore blog, we will yet again not be getting anything new this week as part of the on again, off again XBLA Wednesdays. While, this week they decided to make light of the missing game with this video clip, I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one thinking that they should have put the effort involved in making the video into getting a game out the door. At this point I would have even been happy with the Multi-player add-on for Roboblitz.
[UPDATE] Chris Paladino has posted on the Xbox forums about the intentions of the video clip, and while I certainly understand that it was all in fun, and that they have nothing to do with the actual release, without knowing who sent the message, or why, the messenger is often the one who gets it :).

Thanks for the update, some general feedback:
1. Kudos for actually posting that there is no game this week. I don't think it was handled well though (see my post above).
2. Please please stop saying (or implying) retro titles are bad :( Many (proven by the top 10) love the retro games. What is wrong is balance.
While you don't impact the release process you do impact the overall process. Like I said kudos for stepping up and saying there is no game this week. I think its actually a positive if you can consistently announce a go/no go on monday for the coming wednesday.
am i the only one who liked
am i the only one who liked the video? it actually made me less upset that we weren't getting anything. i'm hoping one of those three games that you showed gets released next week otherwise that's it i'm done (until the next week), no ... but seriously though
Kinda funny
You're not alone Hexx. I had a little chuckle at the video. Bad news is bad news, but the method of delivery made it less bad (if you know what I mean). I reckon those guys should be allowed to develop an online personality on their blog. Keep the standard press releases stuff on xbox.com.
i watched the video hoping
i watched the video hoping that it would say why there was no game. even the main dude behind worms said it was out of the test loop weeks ago....
He said that weeks ago, but
He said that weeks ago, but later corrected himself and said that Worms is not done with cert yet.
It would be nice if there were more games just ready to go. Hopefully MS is trying to increase the volume, but keep in mind that it usually takes 6-12 months to develop these games so they can't just conjure more out of thin air.
If they decided to release more games on the service last year when they first announced XBLA Wednesdays, then we would only just now begin to see the first signs of that increase. I expect they'll be constantly working on gradually increasing the number of titles they approve and how quickly they can test and certify them.
Straight fromt he
Straight fromt he man...
"Worms never had a Feb 21 "slot" btw. As I've repeated, we can't have a date until we are fully certified. There has been a few dates we've been given assuming cert was ok, but those have lapsed. I'm sure that once we're good to go, we'll be out soon after." http://forum.team17.com/showthread.php?t=31734
Interesting. You can't have
Interesting. You can't have a release slot until you complete certification. I bet he wasn't supposed to say that.
Anyway, I guess this means that when we have a week with no release, that means there is NOTHING in MS's possession that can be released. All the already announced games? Not one of them ready to go.

re: Not Developers
Thanks for the heads up Chris, I've updated the post.
On a completely unrelated note, although I'm a fan of what you are doing at the gamerscore blog, my vote if for you to go back to DreamStation.cc and revive what was one of my favorite podcasts.
