XBLA wears members only jacket?!?

EuroGamer.net has a story about how the "doors closed" for indie developers to get into XBLA and how it's a who you know sort of thing. It's sort of obvious that there is a bit of you've worked with us before, so you can develop a game sort of mentality. However, isn't this really how it normally is in the business world? And you also see new developers like Gaia just starting to get into XBLA.
You are going to see this come up over and over and over again...
Where this stems from (maybe not this particular example, but I'd say 90% of similar complaints), is for Developers of games that just aren't very good. They blame everyone but themselves. If it isn't you need to know someone at Microsoft it's You need to be a big publisher, if it's not that then it's you're game has to be a certain Genre.
At the end of the day, I'm personally happy that Microsoft doesn't all everyone to throw whatever crap they want on the service. And for those who disagree, you may be getting your wish with the Community Arcade rumors around XNA.
