Favorite "Coming Soon" Arcade Games?
With Mad Tracks released my list of games that I am looking most forward to shrunk by one. Discounting Band of Bugs (because I assume it's in everyones list) what is everyone looking forward to?
Personally, I'm really looking forward to Undertow, Hoopworld, Street Trace: NYC, Every Extend Extra, Schizoid in that order. To be honest it's really the only 5 that I'm looking forward to. I'm possibly looking forward to Battlestar but that's only if it's a Tie Fighter or Wing Commander clone.
Puzzle Quest, no doubt. I'm suprised no one else said it, or doesn't it count as "soon"?
Oh, and Bomberman of course. Bomberman is always great, and if the Live part is well done this could possibly be the best version.
Other than that, this fall is filled with so many possibly-great "real games" so I won't even have time for more XBLA :p
Games I'm most looking forward to.
Geometry Wars ?? (it would be a crime not to release a follow-up)
Sensible World of Soccer
Speedball 2
Mutant Storm Empire
Bomberman Live
Ikaruga (in my copy of 360 (IP published UK mag) they mention its on partnernet)
Every Extend Extra Extreme
Sonic the Hedgehog is already out now (now I can stop constantly bitching about it...), so scratch that one off the list. But other then that;
Undertow
Metal Slug
Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts (although I don't think it was ever officially announced.)
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
Track & Field
Castle Crashers
Toy Wars
And anyone remember Eternity's Child? I wonder if the game is still in development? That game fascinates to no end. I'm not sure it was ever even confirmed to be coming to XBLA, but either way if it ever gets finshed I hope it does.
Never hear or see much about that game. Every once in along awhile you'll get a new screen, but still details are pretty scarce. And it's been a long time since a new screen or information. The website for it (well, place holder that was never, ever updated) has been down for awhile, too. Probably not a good sign. If anyone has any information about the progress of the game I'd love to hear it.
I'm also looking forward to seeing anything else about Eternity's Child. There was always some question as to whether or not the developer was ever signed on with Microsoft to do an XBLA title, or whether this was going to end up as an XNA title.
I could be wrong, but that's how I remember it.
There was something really charming about the way it looked.
Although that gameplay video that leaked a long time ago showed that it definitely had aways to go, now it just seems like it's fallen off the face of the Earth. It'd be a complete shame for the people (person?) making it to give up on such a promising looking game.
