T. Hawk and some explanation
This week we get a look at T. Hawk (I've got to admit that I stopped playing after Championship Edition, so I have no clue who he is), plus more details about the technical aspects of the game.
It's interesting to see just how they went about creating the new sprites without effecting the hit boxes. Basically they just drew the new sprites on top of the boxes and made sure not to go out of the lines :)
We also got a few clarifications this week, two of them that are disappointing to me are:
The game will display in a 4:3 aspect ratio as the original version did. I’ve been reading some interesting ideas to make it 16:9 on the Capcom BBS. I’m not going to say that it’s impossible to do, but right now, it’s not something we have planned.
The custom win quote is pretty interesting, but I think it’s something that would just be abused way too much. We’re already planning to have voice chat support and think that’s enough exposure to the ahem- interesting dialog that goes on.
So what do you guys think?
I think...you should be ashamed of yourself for not knowing who T-Hawk is.
In all seriousness, I'm really, really, really excited for this game. And they were right not to include custom win quotes, because that would most certainly be abused.
The game itself is really what I'm looking forward to, the artwork I really don't care all that much about. They could release Super Street Fighter II Turbo with no remade art or online play and I'd still lay down 5 smackers for it. I just don't want them to get so crazy with the artwork that it'll bog the game down. Also, I think maybe they should go a little easier on the muscles -- Street Fighter characters have always been ripped looking, but some of these re-made ones look ridiculous to me.
