Mad Tracks Impressions
I played about 15-20 minutes of Mad Tracks this morning and I must say that I'm fairly impressed. The only thing that I'm disappointed in right now is that it seems like there may not be too many regular racing tracks. The other disappointment is that it seems like the oil slick weapon is a bit weak.
Overall though my initial impression is that Madtracks is the best "party" racing game on any Xbox system to date. Definately better than Pocket bike racer and probably toe-to-toe with the retail crash tag team racing.
I haven't tried online yet.
Sounds like a likely purchase. Have you done much "investigating" the levels for secrets yet? I heard there's an easter egg style achievement but I haven't had a chance to check the game out (stuck at work and all that).

Count me as disappointed. only two mulitplayer levels? of which only one is actually a race?
I haven't even tried the single player mode yet, which sounds like it may be interesting... but i doubt it will be highly addictive like cloning clyde or marble blast.
I don't even know what XBLA games to look forward to at this point. Thank goodness Overlord is coming out at retail next month. Now THAT sounds interesting.
While I know it won't please everyone, I'd imagine that there will be multiple mp maps available with the DLC. As long as it's a decent price, I'll be happy with it.
Edit: Actually DenisDenis at the Xbox.com forums is saying that you can play all the challenges online.
I've only managed to get 30 minutes of play so far, but I'm happy with my purchase. The graphics look really nice. Handling on the cars is sharp. Looks like there might be a bit of strategy to how you use the spring accelerator. Could be interesting online. I've only played on Easy Single player so far. Yet to see how challanging single player gets. I see a couple of friends have already purchased so I'll be checking online later. The only disappointment, like Hexx mentioned, is that there does not seem to be many actual Race challanages. Still, given the quality of the game and the prospect of DLC, thats not such a problem. Thumbs up.
Re: overlord
Being rushed? Bummer... but i'm a huge fan of any game that gives you minions. The settlers series, Majesty, Dungeonkeeper... anything where you are more of a manager than a player, I like a lot.
Re: Mad tracks
So I am now to understand that if I progress through single player, I'll be able to access more multiplayer levels? Well, I guess that's motivation to give single player a try. Kind of stupid, though... why not include a way to unlock levels in multiplayer, such as in Cloning Clyde?

Just be happy it's not EA doing it or you'd be paying for that "feature" :)
Hmm... I played the game enough to unlock all the levels, then happily went over to multiplayer to try some of them out.
Turns out, since almost nobody realized they could unlock new multiplayer levels through the single-player mode... hardly anybody did.
So effectively, I still only have two levels that I can actually find people to play against on live. great.
