Kristan Reed, of Eurogamer, strapped his digital cleats on and got a peek at Codemasters' upcoming Sensible World of Soccer. In a world of cynical graphics whores and Roster Update '08s around the corner, could SWOS finally demonstrate that nostalgia and good gameplay actually have a place next to one another? Kristan believes.

Kristan also got a chance to sit down with the game's "original design guru Jon Hare" to reassure fans that "Kebab Shop" and "Essex Girls" will be returning along with everything else.

Apparently the game is based directly on the Amiga's 96/97 version of the game. Says Kristan:

[quote]Rather than try and cobble together an approximation from the ground up, this is as close to the the real deal as humanly possible, complete with the same fonts, same visuals and even the same menus, sound effects and music. It's such a perfect tribute to the brilliance of the original that you'll want to pull your shirt over your head and run around the room screaming with pure joy.[/quote]
