Betcha guys didn't see this coming... .. ....
Ok, ok, we all seen it coming. Following the Xbox Live Arcade Wednesdays release schedule, Cloning Clyde has released today for 800 Microsoft Points.
Do you think it's worth 800 points? Are you disappointed? Surprised? Love it? Hate it? Let us know. I personally love the game thus far, and I like the fact that these small developers can create original, fresh, innovative content and give us the 'bang for our buck'.
Many kudos to NinjaBee.

just finished the main quest, and I'm absolutely loving this game
I've only had enough time to play the first stage, and I gotta say... This whole "clone yourself, then fly around and switch characters" gimmick... very reminiscent of The Lost Vikings, which I loved. It looks like this game will be a lot of fun.
Two things I'm wondering about...
You just finished the main quest? Is the game incredibly short?
Is multiplayer any good?
Bought it and love it :)
The humour is brilliant and it just gets better the more it's played
Side note - gravatar's are buggered in FireFox

couple of things:
As for the game being incredibly short, I played it as fast as I could (Had to go to work) and it took me just under 5 hours. I will have to go back and probably spend at least that much time again to get everything. Add multiplayer on top of that and the fact that it's only $10 and there is certainly no worry that you won't get your moneyies worth from it.
As for the Gravatar's Jay you are the first person to actually use is and it's been causing issues for a while now, so it's gone. We'll be moving to a new site soon and we'll look at something similar at that point.
Wow, 5 hours? That may be a little less than I spent on Marble Blast, but more than if I hadn't bothered to get the par times. So it sounds like a decent length.
So... I guess I underestimated how much time you had to spend on gaming... the game had only been out for what, 11 hours when you posted, and you already crammed 5 hours into the game? wow.
I still want to know if anyone's had a chance to try mulitplayer, and if that's any fun? I won't get to try for another 9 hours yet.

i skipped work today because i feel like absolute crap, and then i remembered it was wednesday and time for a new game...kinda nice how that worked out. i'd say that the game is pretty good...i'm only about half way through and i only tried a vs. match once (i was a little confused...but that may have been due to the medicine).
is it worth $10? if you have a job, then sure, why not? but if you are tight on cash, i'd wait to get more detailed impressions after the game has been out for a week and the next arcade game has already been released. regarding original $10 xbla games, i'd say it's probably second only to marble blast...but i haven't bought outpost kaloki yet.
Thats probably the best €10 I've spent in a while. The single player is top, but it's that multiplayer that totally justifies the price. BTW Trent82, I was totally sober and it was confusing to begin with.
So far I love the single player mode, and it looks like I'll be satisfied with the length of the story.
I don't see much value in the multiplayer mode, though, which is disappointing.
I've tried coop on live and at home, and there are weird bugs with it, such as saving the progress I make in my single player file, and at the same time not allowing both players to collect the dolls... err.. action figures. Also, if both people exit the stage at the same time on split-screen multiplayer, the game locks up for 10-15 seconds, and then recovers.
I haven't tried vs mode yet, but I can't imagine it will be much better.
Worth the $10? Maybe. Definately worth it if more content is released for a reasonable price.
Marble Blast Ultra is my favorite arcade game. Cloning Clyde is right behind it... and then Smash TV. Cloning Clyde definitely brings something new to Xbox Live Arcade. I don't know how much longer I could take the "match 3 colors" or "8 directional shooters", regardless of my love for Smash TV. If there was anything to complain about Cloning Clyde, it would be the difficulty... too easy. Everyone will eventually have the 200 Gamerscore for this. I prefer more of a challenging game, but this will do.
Marble Blast Ultra and Cloning Clyde are two games I see myself picking up in a couple of years. I don't know if I will ever get tired of rolling that marble down "Black Diamond", or Cloning Clyde's addictive Vs. Mode.
I'm kind of meh on the multiplayer. I enjoy the single-player, but thought it was more of an action platformer than a puzzle one (my bad there). Overall I would rate this game a solid 9. Taking off a point because to me at least so far the puzzles have seemed a bit too easy.

This is interesting. Says Alien Hominid and a couple other things on future xbla titles later this year or after.
