After months of playing coy, Denis Bourdain revealed recently to Xboxic, that Mad Tracks will indeed have online multiplayer.
When Load Inc. first announced Mad Tracks was coming to XBLA, many people were extremely happy that Microsoft had finally found something to fill the Revolt/Micro Machines hole in their lineup. Later, it was revealed, that due to time and money concerns, the game would be released without an online multiplayer component. Today's news comes after a fair bit of backlash that Load Inc. received about it's lacking.
As with almost everything it seems these days, with the good comes some bad. In order to code the PC's net code from the ground up, the game has been pushed back "several months" from it's estimated mid-September date.
Thanks Hexx and Audie for the heads up.

This bumped this game back up to a must buy.
My current list:
Lumines Live
Mad Tracks
Castle Crashers
Alien Hominid
Small Arms
Contra
RobotBlitz
I'll see that must-buy list and raise you 3:
Mutant Storm Empire
Heavy Weapon
Castlevania Symphony of the Night
Anyways, this is great news! Must have been a tough decision for them, but I think it will be worth it in the end. A lot of people's initial interest in Mad Tracks was in part because we all assumed at first that it would have Live multiplayer.
I remember when this was listed as being released in March (and also when Saint's Row was expected to be a launch title). Lesson learned: never get interested in games until they're released; then you never have to wait in anticipation. Or in other words, ignorance is bliss.
I just read yesterday how this definitely wasn't going to be Live, and was disappointed, and now that's reversed. Good news...but another delay? Like I said...wake me up when it finally comes out.
Ahh I forgot about Castlevania, I didn't add heavy weapon since it's on PC already, and I didn't had mutant storm because the first was only meh although I did buy it.
This is excellent news. This was my most anticipated game before I read that last interview saying it wouldn't have Live, then I didn't even care about the game, but it seemed like there was such an uproar that they actually listened to us gamers. It back up to my most anticipated game.
Those silly bastards. But I love them for it. That was the only decision they could have made. No Live would have killed that game, and i seriously even considered not buying it due to that news (those of you who know me are aware that me not buying an XBLA game is pretty significant).
Now they had better not have a measly ONE multiplayer achievement of "play a ranked game." I say most of the achievements should come from multiplayer.

i'd really rather not have any "thank you for buying our game" achievements for any game. it's called an "achievement"...it would be nice if you actually had to achieve something to get it.
Excellent news. When I first heard about this game, all I could think about was how much fun this could be over live. Now its going to happen. Fair dues to folks who made that call.
