I've been wondering when XBLA was going to get a metroid style game. I liked Undertow's graphics and gameplay but it really didn't rope me in (I grabbed it when it was free). I have high hopes for this game :) Now, when is someone going to make an XBLA Zelda (original style) clone :P

I loved Undertow and I gladly spent my ten dollars for it. I also bought the expansion pack that recently came out. I'm glad to hear that this new game is going after that "Metroid-vania" feel. Maybe I should have sent in this tip when I got my EGM last week.

Never having owned a Nintendo system (no flames please, it's a geographic thing), the names Castlevania and Metroid don't really resonate with me.

However, the two tiny screenshots from the scan remind me of the fantastic PC platformer Flashback, and that makes me very excited indeed.

@Gnort - ahh the beauty of XBLA, have you tried Synphony of the Night yet? That's probably the best in the series.

Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse is by far the best in the series, followed by Ronod of Blood...but might as well try the Symphony of the Night trial since it is the most accessible to you.

Anywho, I am interested in more 2D games on XBLA. Chair did a good job with Undertow so I am curious to see how they with the action/adventure genre.
