Fret Nice lets you rock out with the first XBLA game for guitar controllers

Fret Nice is a unique platform game with a distinct art style, a lot of great music and support for all guitars controllers out there. Fret Nice is the first platform game ever to be played with a guitar controller. The game will be available from Xbox LIVE Arcade sometime in early 2010.

“We felt sorry for gamers who bought a guitar only to be used for pure music games, so we made a platform game for them! Fret Nice is the perfect blend of two worlds.” says Pieces Interactive CEO Johan Hellberg.

Pieces Interactive is an up-and-coming Swedish developer that has quickly garnered attention to their titles. Their unique style and innovative game mechanics, blended with great music has become a signature trademark. In fact, at E3 this past Summer, Tecmo Inc (the creators of such hits as Dead or Alive, Ninja Gaiden and Tecmo Bowl) announced that they would be publishing Fret Nice from developers Pieces Interactive.

“The game industry is under a lot of stress, we have to differentiate our products against the competition. Fret Nice looks and feels like nothing else!” says Johan.

In Fret Nice, everybody loves the Vibrant Chodblasters, the whole world's new darling hitband. Everybody except the Hair Bängers. inhabitants of the Heavy Metal Kingdom. Upon hearing the new sound of the Vibrant Chordblasters' spreading all over the world, the Hair Bängers take action and go on a destructive rampage! So watcha gonna do?! Players take on the role as the Vibrant Chordblasters in this musical platformer for 1-2 players, and riff the Hair Bängers back to the icky heavy metal hole from whence they came... By the power of Rock'n Roll!

Fret Nice was nominated for the Design Innovation Award and Excellence in Audio at the Independent Games Festival 2008. Fret Nice is currently being developed for Xbox LIVE® Arcade and will be available for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft sometime in early 2010.
