Assault Heroes is this weeks XBLA Wednesday release.

It's now official, Assault Heroes is going to be made available this Wednesday at the regular time. As listed on Gamerscore Blog here's the game features:

This is one of the most exciting XBLA releases yet, in my opinion.
This is exactly the kind of game I've been hoping XBLA would make possible all along. A modern take on one of my favorite genres ever.

We'll see. Roboblitz looked promising, but there was too much difficulty with the controls, I thought. It seemed more like work than fun. So I never moved past the demo.
I do like the idea of blowing up everything in my path, so I'm more hopeful on this one. Again, we'll see how the demo plays out. I love the "try before you buy" aspect of the XBLA.

Roboblitz was trying something a little different. Assault Heroes is taking a proven formula and augmenting it with a modern (also proven) dual stick control scheme. I think there's a lot less room for surprise here.
And for the record, I disagree about Roboblitz's controls. But obviously that's different for everybody.

Saw that demo on Gamespot's On The Spot and it looks pretty cool. Nice to see co-op in there. Small Arms left me disappointed and Roboblitz wasn't for me so here's hoping Assault Heroes does the business.
