Gamespot's Best and Worst 2006 winners announced

While Gamespot announcing the winners of their "Best and Worst 2006" awards wouldn't normally show up on our site, this time their is a reason for it to do so.

Within the Genre awards was a very interesting winner. Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 has won their Fighting game of the year award. While I'm a big fan of this XBLA title, and admittedly not a huge fighting game fan, is this really the best their was this year?

Congrats to Midway and Digital Eclipse on the win!

That's funny
UMK3 gets Fighting Game of the Year, while SF2 gets Biggest Disappointment. Is there no middle ground for XBLA fighting games???

Fighting games need to take
Fighting games need to take a look at themselves and figure out what is wrong with their genre because I haven't had fun with them since Soul Calibur (i think).

The Soul Caliber Game for
The Soul Caliber Game for Dreamcast rocked. I haven't really enjoyed a fighting game since then. I was even disappointed in the Soul Caliber for Gamecube with Link in it.
