Hot off the presses comes word that this weeks release will be Paperboy.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, this special delivery won’t break the bank, but just might break some windows! The much-loved arcade classic from the 1980’s, “Paperboy” (Digital Eclipse/Midway) will be available for download on Xbox Live Arcade for Xbox 360 beginning Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 9 a.m. GMT (1 a.m. PST).
Players control a paperboy on his speedy bicycle delivering newspapers along a busy suburban street. The goal is to deliver a week of daily newspapers to subscribers’ homes without damaging their property, all the while avoiding hazards such as grumpy neighbors, annoying dogs and moving vehicles. Miss a delivery too many times and players may lose a subscriber for good.
The coin-op favorite returns but this time it’s enhanced with original content specifically designed for Xbox Live Arcade. A new multiplayer mode will allow gamers to deliver the paper co-operatively together on the same console, or over Xbox Live. The game also features new artwork that compliments and enhances the original style, and the audio has been modernized for today’s high performance sound systems.
“Paperboy” will be available worldwide for 400 Microsoft Points. Rated E for Everyone; Mild Animated Violence.
Game Features
· Seven stages (one for each day of the week) and 3 levels of difficulty – “Easy Street,” “Middle Road” or “Hard Way”
· New Xbox Live multiplayer: The standard multiplayer mode involves two player co-op play which can take place on the same console or over Xbox Live
· High scores are tracked on the Xbox Live Leaderboard
· Earn up to 12 Achievements and 200 Gamerscore points
Are you going to be buying this game this week or are you keeping your cash in your pocket until indie darlings like Band of Bugs and Eets gets released in the very near future?

I love the arcade classics but I think I will pass on this one. I actually can't remember ever playing this in the arcade. Only on the NES I think.

I remember paperboy in the arcades when I was a kid... I remember the bike-handle controller on the machines. (my dad was a video game repairman, so I saw and played a ton of different games)
What I remember the most though, Is I never really liked paperboy, even as a kid. I'll probably play the demo for old time's sake, but I don't see myself making the purchase.
So Worms is finished, but they're releasing Paperboy instead? Way to go, Microsoft.

This is a misconception. Xboxic.com even had a post about this today. Worms is still in cert (is still in development).

They way I see it, they got the 2 worst games out of the way first. The next 2-3 months are going to rock, and we won't have to worry about these breaking up the flow of cool games on the way.
(sorry if I offend fans of Tapper and Paperboy )

Didn't like Paperboy back then (remember playing it on a mate's Amstrad), but I'll check the demo. The only retro game I'm really anticipating is Sensible Soccer. With the addition of on-line multiplayer and leaderboards - I can't wait.
