Although they aren't on the official list of weapons... I wonder if there will be an addon pack later on. Also, Worms games have often had hidden weapons that only pop up in crates. Maybe the Holy Hand Grenade will be making a cameo every 10%? Personally, I'm looking forward to the addons. Cheers!

yeah spadge has said he doesn't want new weapons because of the fact that they want to keep it simple for everyone so the dlc will only be stuff like sounds and such.

I think it's important that as a new Worms game comes out on Arcade, to a new audience, that the names of weapons / items in the game should be correct. No offence to Whet Wurm but it seems like he's never played a Worms game in his life judging by some of those names he's given.

I'll correct the errors listed above and hope the site mods can change the list to it's correct state.

Frag Grenade = Cluster Bomb

Mortar = Airstrike (Mortar is NOT in this game)

Flaming Uppercut = Fire Punch

Fireball = Dragon Ball

Seltzer = Blowtorch

Sheep Bomb = Exploding Sheep

Hara Kiri = Kamikaze

Platform Constructor (wtf) = Girder

Air Strike Call = Teleport

Jump Rope = Skip Go

White Flag = Surrender

Again, I'm not attacking anyone, but if you're gonna make a list of the weapons and their names, at least try to make it accurate so everyone knows what they're supposed to be called !

Mat is correct on some of them. I mistook the teleporter for the Airstrike and as such, I was unaware the mortar is not in the game (they have similar icons). I simply forgot about the flame thrower. My fault.

As for the naming of the others... you're just splitting hairs, Mat. Honestly, who cares if it's Girder vs. Platform constructor? They are the same thing. Fire punch vs. Flaming Uppercut? Come on. By all means, correct the obvious ones but leave the "it seems like he's never played a Worms game in his life" out. I have played every 2D worms game. I just made a mistake.

The list seems pretty good. Very similar to the one in Worms: The Director's Cut, which is IMO the best game in the series (though sadly a bit difficult to play these days as it's Amiga-only). A few good weapons are missing, but overall I imagine this collection will provide me with tons of fun. I wish they'd gone back to the old style graphics too, but that may just be the nostalgic in me speaking.

By "old style graphics" do you mean the original when each worm was made of 11 pixels, or like the Worms 2 style? If you mean Worms 1 then I think you're insane.

I probably am, but.... I feel they had more charm than the big-headed "new" Worms.

Really? But they hardly had a fraction of the animations and facial expressions that were added in Worms 2. Even the look of the weapons, tombstones, and backgrounds got more personality and character after the first game.

I don't know. I did play Worms 2 before Worms 1, but I just can't see how the old worms have more charm.

I think it's the same with Lemmings. The more detail they put on them, the less charming they become. They look horrible in the latest game. IMO, ofcourse.

Hey Whet Worm I said right off I didn't want to upset anyone, but the weapons and utilities have been called the same thing since Worms1. When I saw this page linked to on a message board I thought it was worth the time to register so the site bods could correct the list. They are called the same thing in all Worms games for a reason, so everyone can identify the weapons and items by name.

 

Besides, I think ''Platform Constructor Blocking'' doesn't have the same ring as ''Girder Blocking'' :)
