Update: A few Rockemen videos have made it onto YouTube (Video 1, Video 2, Video 3).
Rocketmen: Axis of Evil (Wikipedia) is based of a WizKids constructable strategy game and for all intents and purposes is a Smash TV clone featuring 4-player co-op play on Xbox Live. From the screenshots that have been released the game has a cartoonish cel-shaded feel that looks really good for an Xbox Live Arcade or Playstation Network game. It will be interesting to see if this game actually will come together and be deeper than the game that it is obviously trying to immitate. The revealed character customization may make the deepness a reality. Look for this title in Q3 of this year.
Talisman (Wikipedia) is a board game from the Games Workshop that will probably feature 2-6 player games. The game will feature 3D graphics; however, it seems that no screenshots of this game have been thrown onto the internet yet. Look for this title in Q4 of this year. Until then make sure you read up on the rules because they look like they'll confuse even a nerd like me.
Have any of you readers played either of these games yet in their current incarnation? What are your thoughts on them?

The last incarnation of Talisman on the game and hobby store shelves was current over a decade ago, having been released in 1994, and has been out of print for quite some time. This happens to a lot of Games Workshop titles, especially the more classic-style board games (Warhammer Quest, Necromunda, Space Hulk and the violently campy Blood Bowl which I think would be wonderful on XBLA).
And for the record, if anyone is wondering why Capcom, that bastion of Japanese gaming, is going after a long dormant board game franchise from a UK-based company, there is a link between the two. Sabretooth Games, GW's card games division, makes UFS, a collectible card game principally based on fighting game titles, including (you guessed it) Street Fighter.

Talisman was a great board game in it's time. Until recently, you could find copies on Ebay for $300+. For info on that version, go to http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/714
Recently, Valley Games has announced a reprint that will update the gameplay to today's standards. Check it out at http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/27627
I am looking foward to it. It's a fun game, but a little long to play. I'm sure an XBLA version would play faster.

Rocketmen looks pretty cool, even though it's based on a game/toy I've never heard of. I'll probably end up getting it because I'm such a sucker for shooters like this.
I've never heard of Talisman either, but it's cool that they're developing all these board games for XBLA. Now when will they release one?? Yeah, I'm looking at you, Catan.

I've still got my copy of Talisman . Maybe I should get it on Ebay quick...
It was a pretty good board game, but I can't see how it's going to be a good arcade game - too high a reliance on dice. Unless it becomes a standard RPG - which wouldn't be too much of a stretch.

After the last few rounds of let down XBLA releases I hope Rocketmen lives up to its potential.
While Talisman is pricey I saw an official hand painted limited edition of Catan at a game/comic store today for $499. I wonder how long it has been on that shelf or how long it will stay.
