Bungie's Marathon coming to XBLA?

According to Xbox-Achiv, the USK (aka the German ESRB) has rated Marathon: Durandal. (Link to the Google translated version)

Marathon, if you haven't already wet yourself with glee, is a classic Bungie franchise. (Yeah, they actually made games before a man in green armor changed everything.)

Marathon originally debuted in 1994 on the Macintosh and completed the trio of releases in 1996. If you want to know way too much about it, start with the Wiki. In fact, there's apparently two Wikis. Halo owes much of its genesis to Marathon, so all you Halo junkies, get to learnin'.

The smart money puts this game as a downloadable through Xbox Live Arcade but I am sure this one will be held close to the vest until it is ready for primetime. Maybe a min-E3 announcement? We shall see.

personally, I'm not a big fan of Doom on XBLA. It just doesn't feel right. I'll probably pass on this because of that. Now if it was a newer title like say Perfect Dark...
Durandal

That's very interesting. I wonder what this means.

Were there major differences in technology or gameplay between the 3 games? If not, it would make sense to release all 3 in order, or in one compilation.

But if Durandal is the subtitle for the second game, does that mean this is Marathon 2?

I'd like to play through the story since I've heard so much about it. But I also wonder if the game has any "improvements" in it...

And yeah...the whole "Durandal" thing confused me too...is this the middle volume of the trilogy? Maybe this was just the first to pass the USK rating board. Maybe there will be more popping up soon.

Maybe is is coming along

Maybe it is coming along side of Halo 3? Kinda like PGR/Geometry Wars?

Yeah, it would make sense
Yeah, it would make sense 2-3 weeks before Halo 3 to capitalize on and add to the hype. Sorta like the TMNT games. Releasing it at the same time would be suicide though (who's going to spend $10+ on a 13 year old FPS when Halo 3 is released?).
speaking of which, I'm

speaking of which, I'm wondering if we are going to see the original Simpsons Arcade game make it's way out in time for the movie?
