Our eagle-eyed 360 community has spotted something of interest (and they are bickering about it in the comments) in the latest preview of Geometry Wars: Galaxies (currently slated as a Wii/DS title only). In fact, if you watch Gamespot's video preview you might catch it too. Then again, I took a screen and posted it here to save you the effort. Simply put, the word "Achievements" appears right there on the Galaxies pause menu. Could that mean it is headed for XBLA? Might it be that it will arrive alongside PGR4?
To be honest, I don't care how it arrives or it what iteration. I need more Geo Wars. Now. (I will settle for soon though!)

I think that's a big stretch.
If that menu item isn't meant to be there, then it's because they've obviously started with an exact copy of the GW:RE menu screen. Not because they copied the menu from some future XBLA game.
But I wouldn't be surprised if they plan to use achievements in the Nintendo versions because they understand the motivational power of the awards even if they're not tied to a gamer profile or score.
Anyway, if there's another Geometry Wars coming to 360, I would expect (and hope) that it's developed by Bizzare Creations rather than whoever's doing Galaxies.

I have my doubts that Galaxies will be coming to XBLA, for a two of reasons:
1. because of the relative mass GWG. Each planet in GWG is roughly the size of the playing field in GW:RE. If I remember reading right, there's are a few galaxies containing 7-8 planets a piece. The sheer size would go way above current XBLA limits, unless they made it into a series of DLC. But even then, it would become quite a bit
2. Despite main development being done by Kuju Entertainment (although the guys at Bizarre are helping co-developing it), it was BE's idea from the start to put in on the Wii/DS (according the the IGN developer blog of GWG)
Now I can see some of the concepts brought into GWG brought to the XBLA game (like the multi-player, the new enemies, and the little drone)...but I definitely don't see the entirety of GWG being brought to GW:RE or XBLA. Of course, there's always sending it to retail.
