DLC: New Tracks for Boom Boom Rocket
Just missing a perfect opportunity for firework promotion during the July 4th celebrations comes word of DLC for Boom Boom Rocket. The package will include 5 new songs and will touch on new styles of music. What those new styles will be, and when this pack will arrive is anyone's guess.
Bizarre Creation's Ben Ward does hint that the new songs will be an extra challenge. "...they do seem to be a level above and beyond what we're all used to. That can only be a good thing for all the hardcore, blindfolded, multi-fingered BBR experts out there," he said.
One of the complaints about Boom Boom Rocket when it first arrived was the small song list. Anyone out there willing to shell out more money to fill out the game more? And if so, how much would you pay for 5 songs? 800 MSP?

I was going to say there's no way they charge the price of the full game for just 5 songs, but I guess if they're trying new genres maybe they'll need to in order cover license fees.
I'd prefer to get more of the techno-classical stuff that the game came with. That's one of the reasons I like the game. There are a lot more classical melodies that would be well suited to this stuff.

I guess asking if 800 MSP was appropriate was a bit of a high estimate, unless major licensing issues come into play. But it is EA afterall, so you never know.
However, maybe the recent Lumines Live DLC gives us an indication of a 350-400 MSP cost for 5 songs (it was 350 for 4 songs for Lumines). That would be about right probably.

I would say that for 5 songs I'd pay 400 MSP, but not 800.

I personally can't imagine this game getting any harder, though. Seriously, I could barely get through some of the easier songs...I never even tried the hardest difficulty for any of the songs.
And I do wonder what kind of music we'll be hearing. Will it just be music like in most Lumines Live! songs (with the notable exception of Heavenly Star), or will we be hearing songs you'd be more likely to hear on something like Guitar Hero? (with lyrics and stuff)
Although I'd rather just stick with the regular music for this game...for consistency...

Yeah, GH II DLC was $2+ a song if I'm remembering correctly. That totally ruined it for me too...I woulda bought the entire GH track list for $20 and maybe even $30. But $6+ for 3 songs...no thank you.

It's funny how I absent-mindedly put 800 MSP on this post and it turned into a mini-debacle. (I love the debate actually.) I guess maybe I did Bizarre a favor when their pack comes out at 400 MSP everyone will say, "see, I told you it wouldn't be 800 MSP!!" LOL.
