Dustin Berg of Xbox360Fanboy is adding fuel to the speculation fire that Super Contra will be arriving on XBLA, and more importantly, soon. He references a post on the eXophase forums that talks about the playable version sitting on PartnerNet as we speak.

From this bit of information, they've extrapolated the idea that Super Contra will be released forthwith.

The arrival of Super Contra may indeed come shortly, but let me debunk some assumptions about PartnerNet after the break.

• An appearance on PartnerNet does not mean a game is done.
• An appearance on PartnerNet could easily be followed by a failed certification which would delay a title.
• An appearance on PartnerNet may be a beta test of sorts, or a way to get feedback from PartnerNet users about the current state of the game (even says so in the wiki that X360F links to).
• Talking about games on PartnerNet *at all* is a violation of the PartnerNet NDA.

So, let's all just take a step back and wait. I've been burned by over anticipating games before, so I'm taking this rumor with a massive grain of salt and a boatload of patience. You?
