rumor from inside capcom: Talisman is on the shelf indefinately
can't name my source, but I'm told that Talisman has been put on the shelf since October and nobody is working on it. While there's been no internal announcement about it at Capcom, the rumors there seem to be that they're going to allow the license agreement to expire while they focus on other products.
its a *new* source for me, so I cannot verify it. In December, we were told that there's be an XBLA.com update on the board games that had been announced, but strangely silent for over a quarter year now. hows that story coming?
for those who didn't click the link, the "lastest news" Capcom has released on Talisman was from January 1, four full months past its announced release date, was:
"No news at this time."
They've squandered the license and they're just shelving it until Games Workshop yanks it back and awards it to another studio.
I'm still working on the Boardgames piece, it seems that every time I get to a point where I'm ready to bang it out, some new piece of info comes up.
Things are looking "interesting" for board games on XBLA, I'll tell you that much.
Can you please press on Capcom about what I've heard? I got an email from someone who said they work in PR but wouldn't say specifically who or what - and I'm being told that Talisman is on a 'hiatus' for the foreseeable future. I've attempted to get a confirm/deny from Capcom on this, but 15 emails later and no responses.
