What did all of you think of the demo? Did any of you pick it up?

I thought it was okay, but there are already so many horde-killing games on XBLA (Gauntlet, Smash TV, Mutant Storm). Sure, being able to upgrade weapons and such is nice, but this one isn't making the cut for me. As for four-player action, I'm still waiting on Castle Crashers for that. :)

Well, I was really looking forward to Rocketmen, but I was pretty dissapointed :( It reminds me of a cross-over between Robotron and Gauntlet with some RPG-Elements added, but the Game is simply not nearly as fun to play as Robotron or Smash TV. The first Reviews pretty much nailed it:

The auto-scrolling is annoying, the button-mashing needed for interaction with certain objects is irritating (especially while being shot at), and while the extra weapons are fun, the standard "Pea-Shooter"-Gun is simply not fun or satisfying to shoot with. Maybe it gets better once you max out your stats or maybe the game only truly shines when played in co-op with other Players, but I´ll probably never find that out.

It makes we wonder how capcom gave the greenlight to such a game with so many flaws, considering the high quality of their recent games.

It makes me also wonder why capcom didn´t simply port Cannon Spike to XBLA/PSS instead. Cannon Spike was a Robotron-Clone/Arcade Game/Dreamcast-Port (3d Graphics/2d Gameplay) made by Capcom/Psykyo featuring Capcom characters from Streetfighter, Darkstalkers, Megaman and Ghouls´n´Ghost as playable Characters. It still loooks good (the Art is far more appealing than Rocketmen), is a blast to play and features Co-OP :(

Sorry for the long rant....

I kinda liked it. If there hadn't been so many great xbla releases over the last few weeks then I might have bought it.

Those comic frame cutscenes seem really weird to me. The way the characters are frozen in time but the camera is actually moving in 3d space while they speak.

Rocketmen is pretty decent, but as mentioned there are just so many games of very close genres that pretty decent just isn't good enough.

The upgradable weapons are pretty nice and the different character classes, but it just doesn't add up to enough differences from other XBLA games. However, if I hadn't purchased any of the others and wanted a 4 person party game I would consider Rocketmen over the other options.

I was actually very disappointed with the demo. It looked so much fun in the trailer, but then you pick it up and it's so much different.

I know the weapons are supposed to be futuristic and all, but they have no similarity to their actual name at all. For instance, the shotgun shoots a spread shot, rather than a burst. And the laser is just a machine gun.

I expected much better from a large name like Capcom and they left me desiring so much more. This is one title that I will not be picking up.

I was disappointed. I really wanted to like it but I wasn't a fan of the walking (it seemed slow). The weapons or it seemed like it was impossible(?) to dodge bullets, which is frustrating.

I liked the look of the game though.

One of the funnier bits is that once you've completed the game and filled out your speed attribute, you can easily dodge the bullets.

It seems with most of the game it's a lot better once you've beat it. Although at that point it's too easy.
