Cyberball Tourney: Serious Prizes from Gamerscoreblog

No joke, amazing prizes are out there to win so keep reading. Gamerscoreblog has posted details of a Cyberball 2072 Tournament. There are only 100 slots so act fast!

Why have a Cyberball 2072 tourney? Because BIGVIP (aka Aaron Greenberg) was a huge fan of the game back in the day and he apparently likes to give away tons of cool stuff in the name of gaming days past.

Amongst other things, you could win a set of new color controllers, a 120GB HDD, or one of those new Messenger Kits. Told ya the prizes were serious.

All the necessary details after the break.

So here is the way this will work:

1. Send a friend invite to the gamertag "Cyberballgamer", first 100 are in the tourney.

2. Play Cyberall and show your skills, highest scores on the friends leaderboard will win free stuff.

3. Top 10 gamers will get free stuff from my office as follows:

1st place: Set of new color controllers + MS Points Card

2nd place: 120GB HDD + MS Points Card

3rd place: Messenger Kit + MS Points Card

4th place: Copy of Blue Dragon + Ms Points Card

5th place: 1 Year Xbox LIVE Gold + MS Points Card

6th-10th place: One 1600 MS Points Card

I will take the top 10 ranked gamers when I get to work on Wednesday, so figure you have the weekend till the end of the day on Tuesday to make the list.

Very nice prizes.

Very nice prizes. Unfortunately I didn't like the game.

As someone who grew up on NES games...

I know that there's far worse games than Cyberball.

While the lack of online head-to-head is baffling, to say the least...I really got into it, even if the computer still creams me for fun.

I was interested in the "tournament" before, but didn't think it would pan out as quickly as it did, thanks to Tomacco for the heads up!

I doubt I'll win, but it'll be fun to try

I wonder how the leaderboards will work though, with no Vs. mode. I guess it's up to the computer?

what? Theres no vs. mode? did this game even exist in the arcade without two screens and four player capability? Amazing. I've been trying to be less cynical lately but this really is one of the most amazingly stupid things I've heard in awhile.

Yeah, I didn't buy the game, but I would feel incredibly angry if I did only to find out they took away multiplayer. wow.

Here's a pic that confirms my memory of the cyberball 4-player units:

You know, I had no intention of buying this game, but if I make it into the first 100 for the contest, I'm totally getting it. I'm a real sucker for competition.

Might be a little problem getting prizes though.
