This sounds great, more multiplayer shooters are always welcome. You could play Mercs (which was the sequel to Commando, so technically there's never been a Commando 2) with three players and it was good fun.

What's the bet they're going to institute Robotron-style dual stick controls? It's probably going to feel quite a lot like Assault Heroes without the vehicles.

Wow, rather than wasting our time with the originals, they go straight to Commando 3. Go Capcom! (and thanks for developing it for a real platform, unlike Konami and Contra 4 ).

I hope they do go with the dual stick controls. These games always needed it, IMHO.

It's Backbone, they're hacks, so I wouldn't expect much. They are the ones that have just done a bunch of ports to XBLA and F9E did that crappy Yaris game.

They're just gonna run a Commando emulator and make it have 3 players, that's all. No new levels, controls, bosses, just Commando with 3 players I'm sure.

Gametrailers has a video of this now. It looks like a completely new game. Hope they do a new Strider next!

The Backbone emulation on the PSP for Capcom Classics Reloaded is superb actually. They are just really bad at emulating on the 360 apparently. Although achievements and XBLA rules would interfere with many of the options they allow on the PSP variants, such as cheat modes.

They already have Mercs and Commandos running with three players over ad-hoc on the PSP so that wouldn't even be new.
