If anything it should have been merging the other way, ILoveXBLA was always a much better source than here. There's never pictures posted, the site looks horrible in comparison and there where much higher quality of posts on ILoveXBLA.

I think you may have banding issues on your monitor because mine is definately a gradient (actually 2 gradients).

I wouldn't consider this a downgrade the entire reason I started ILoveXBLA is because I LOVED XBLArcade.com and the posting of topics has been for the most part the same topics except I like to throw out rumors more.

This wasn't a buy out or a forced merge or anything of the like. I personally was the one who suggested we ditch ILoveXBLA.com for XBLArcade.com. The domain name itself is easier to remember and ranks higher in popular search engine like google, technorati, etc. Plus, if we moved to his site we could get off of blogger faster since it was taking me awhile to complete my homebrew XBLA portal. The two of us have been thinking about this for a while and it truly is a good move for all of us. There were a lot of ideas that we have wanted to do for a while now, but couldn't. Also, when one of us is gone you get a hole in the news because only one person really works on both sites (for the most part).

Please, hold off any judgements for say the next 2 weeks. Then come back and email me at ilovexbla@gmail.com and if you have any concerns with this move voice them and we'll listen.

I guess I can just delete my ilovexbla feed then? I've always liked the content on this site more, but the look of this site is ugly.

I mean, right now, Word-wrap isn't even working so to read comments i have to drag my window left and right just to see the entire comments. That's bad.

Make sure you go out and pay someone.. do your research on the re-design. Also the problem I was talking about earlier is here: http://files.jhuskisson.com/random/xblarcade_bug.png It happens on every browser I open, on every resolution, on every OS (i'm on a Mac with parallels installed). Notice the question mark characters in the 'Hex wed 2007' row too at the bottom - improper content encoding. I have to agree with previous comments - the look of the site is what ruins it for me (I rarely ever leave the RSS feed because of this). That and the short posts - it's always a link to another site that's reporting the news, or a very brief amount of information. Lack of pictures just makes it boring - there's several categories of site where no pictures will work and gaming isn't one of them. Try posting up some gamespot or gametrailers embedded video.. bring some media into the equation. And for god sake - if this rich-text editor enables itself one more time whilst I am typing this comment I'm going to kill somebody. I've had to re-insert all my special characters three times!

twodder, all your points are very, very valid, but all I can say is give us a couple weeks and most (if not all) of your website concerns will be taken care of.

As for the shorter posts, this is something we will also work on, but it will take some time.

Images and embeded video will also be coming, but I can't give you an exact time line on this.

Please keep the comments coming as we are trying to make sure we make this site as enjoyable and informative to it's readers as possible.

.. then i'll still be a subscriber. At the moment the site isn't loading very well.. it seems to hang up because of the user images. Stopping the page from loading (it just hangs without a content area otherwise) shows the full page without the user images...

they all come back.. typical ;)

I've been looking into that kind of stuff and from what I've heard it might have to do with the caching of drupal, I'll try and turn it off and see if that helps till the big changes occur.

After the fantastic job you did on the banner, I'll certainly be bothering you for any help you can provide!

i'm still interested in providing content for the site if you're still interested in having me around. i'd gladly resume my role as a news submitter and/or guide writer if you would like. once i get my new pc in the spring, i'm also thinking of creating some videos for certain xbla games to post on youtube, videos that could be associated with the site, perhaps.

I have used both sites, and will continue to look for information on this site on my daily outings for news. I actually think the merger will be great... hell I wish I could have the ability to have people post on my site... its a pain to be the "sole" person posting.
