It's been a long time since we have gotten any word on Sonic the Hedgehog for Xbox Live Arcade. The great news is that today the release of a few screenshots brings back the confidence in it's release on the Arcade. The game will be released as a "Sega Vintage Collection" title, which I guess will be the moniker for their XBLA titles. The naming convention also brings proof that they plan on bringing more than just Sonic onto the service (Vectorman or Ecco anyone?). Previously there was a very small rumor that Streets of Rage was coming to XBLA.
Overlooking Cloning Clyde, which really is a puzzle game, this game will bring platformers to the service on a high note. Now where is N+?

The original 2D Sonics were great. But rather than buy the XBLA version I'll just do the most pointlessly nested emulation ever -- Use my 360 to emulate the xbox to use the xbox Sonic collection disc which emulates the Genesis to run the game. Gotta love technology!
