New PinballFX Table coming next week [UPDATED AGAIN]

bntpinballFX Regardless of what the Gamerscore Blog says in this weeks XBLA Press Release, Zen will NOT be releasing the first DLC for PinballFX this week. Word coming via GamingTalkHQ is stating that a new table, dubbed "Buccaneer" will instead be released next week (Oct. 31st). The price for it seems to be 200 points which I'm sure more than one person will scoff at, but seems reasonable to me if they put the same amount of detail as they put into the existing tables.

So are those of you who loved the first three tables going to be picking this up, or has the love affair cooled?

[UPDATE] it's 200 points not 400, sorry

[UPDATED AGAIN] This story is getting better and better, GamingTalkHQ now has word that the new table will be absolutely FREE

The tables are very well

The tables are very well designed, but they need to fix the physics badly. It is more a model of playing pinball on Neptune than on Earth.

I will defend pinball until

I will defend pinball until you can defeat my 613 million on speedball.

Yeah, the gravity is a bit higher than real pinball, but I accept that the developers chose that to keep the speed up and keep things arcadey. what's good is that the physics are consistent, which very little randomness built in, which allows you to get really good with practice.

I wish there was a way to test this new table without purchasing it, because I only liked one of the first three tables, but I'll probably buy this one anyway, just to support more pinball coming to the XBLA.

For free I download it

For free I download it in a heartbeat. What a great halloween gift, even if we here in my small part of Europe doesn't really celebrate it. Could be because the "trick or treat" translation to my native language just sounds dumb :)

I will try the new table, even if I never did enjoy the game. But that's probably just me, didn't get around and never understood the objectives for the tables.

"I will try the new table, even if I never did enjoy the game. But that's probably just me, didn't get around and never understood the objectives for the tables. "

It isn't just you. I am not a huge pinball fan, this is one of those games I purchased for someone else to play, but I can fingure out most tables. I could get about halfway through the original tables before I just hit a wall. Combine that with gravity heavy physics and shifting camera angles and you just have a frustrating game trying to be pinball.

Having said that if the table really is free I will play it for sure. Hopefully it is less sever than the previous tables making it more casual friendly. If nothign else maybe less frustrating tward the end.

Even for free, I'm not sure

Even for free, I'm not sure if I'll download this.

Pinball FX, of my 35 (if my memory serves me right) games, is one of the few games I really regret spending my money on.

Finally!

I was wondering this title would ever receive any updates, as it seemed like one of the more likely candidates to have additional content. And while Solitaire got update after update, this one felt like it was forgotten.

Easily one of my favorite XBLA games, I'm really looking forward to the new table. Keep em coming!
