Shred Nebula is being designed as a successor to an old PC game, Subspace.
Subspace was a failed entry in the early days of subscription-based gaming.
However... IT LIVES!
Subspace has been re-released as "Continuum", which is free to download and play. There are plenty of websites dedicated to the game. Popular Servers can have upwards of 100 players logged in at any time.
As a benefit, any computer built after say, 1983 can run the game. Ok, I exagerate a bit, but not by much.
I don't even want to think about how many hours I've sunk into playing Continuum. This is the first XBLA title I've been excited about in some time.

heh... in continuum you can type ?usage to find out how many hours you've played. I'm at 142. I know some people have a lot more... but for me, that's pretty crazy.
I wonder if bungie would tell me how many hours i've played halo 3...
