As you may have read from the Chair tips post, we've been thinking of starting a game night for some time now. Essentially, we'll get together to play games for an hour or two a week (or two) and have some fun. With the 16 player Undertow, it makes sense that that would be our first game (and the fact that it just came out).
What I'm wondering is what day of the week would you like to have game nights?
What time of day would you like to play? (keep in mind Tomacco, Lunar and I are all GMT-6 aka Central Standard Time)
What game(s) would you like to play at these. (Ideas: Undertow, Marble Blast, Battlestar, Wing Commander, Street Trace, Marathon, War World)
I would like to keep games to the 8+ type for now. Perhaps later we will break down into smaller groups.
The other issue we have is invites to the games. Any ideas for this? I was thinking perhaps we'll use Messenger to add people to our lists and send invites that way?
I like your idea of Sundays and Monday-Thursday. I'm PST so if theres enough of us we can push the time later just for those that can play. Its sometimes tough to get good MP matches going even for games like Switchball/Word Puzzle. Another fun MP game is Tetris.
Switchball is a definate. With Word Puzzle, I'm not certain how easy it will be to fill up multiple rooms.
What we'll probably wind up doing is having a forum post going on the day of the game night with who to send room requests to. It may keep more structure to the night than a free-for-all invite confusion.
well, first I think you need to have some test games, like aegis wing or Carcassone. They were free so we can make a good guess of what people would come to a Bought game. And also we need to make an assumption of how many would come period with the smaller rooms, instead of getting our hopes up for a big game.... Just look at the band of bugs free pc game competition. Last i looked it didnt go so well.
I think Sunday wouldn't be a good day (football, King of the hill)
Basicaly the idea would be to create a silver "XBLArcade Gamers" tag that we all join. We could then all use it (via FoF eventually) to better organize this type of thing.
Thanks for the reminder about the Undertow event... Unfortunately I don't have Undertow right now :( I think using the XLBArcade account to organize this type of stuff (and send reminder emails) works very well though.

I'm thinking Monday/Tuesday may work best during the week as it's right before the new game hits.

I'm up for whatever people want this week, unfortunately both of this weeks titles don't lend to this sort of thing. :(
At least their is the Tuesday Undertow thing to look forward to.
