Talisman, Alhambra, Lost Cities, Puerto Rico - where did all these great game go? They were all announced for XBLA almost a year ago, and we've heard not a peep about any of them. I was under the impression that Carcassonne did really well, but maybe it didn't.
There are many, many boardgames on the way, boyed by both Catan and Carcassonne, many developers started developing them. However like many things, these things take time.
Look for an XBLArcade.com feature in the next week or so on the subject
That is the great eternal mystery of XBLA related press releases. It isn't just board games but all sorts.
WarWorld was announced by MS for a summer release, still waiting on it. Sensible Soccer is supposedly being released next week after a summer announcement, but until it is actually released I am not betting on it.
There was an old announcemnt for a Chess (just Chess) game which has seemingly dissappeared without notice then suddenly Spyglass was released with very little notice. Now to confuse people even further Chessmaster has been announced.
most games are coming in 2008. All of the games look awesome, makes you wonder why developers haven't already put this amount of effort in their games (most, like crappy ports). Well, not just effort, something we PROBABLY haven't seen by now, kinda bout originality.
Just occurred to me that XBLA doesn't really have a holiday crunch because I would imagine that all the consoles sold in December wont really get around to downloading content (assuming people still buy new consoles with 2 or 3 retails games with them) until January.
Maybe thats the reason for the lack of an XBLA 'wow' release this month.

I had submitted a request to the site editors for information about Talisman because it was supposed to release two months ago, and only days after it missed its release window, the developer admitted that the interface and much of the actual design of the game (i.e. how the board spaces would look and feel and react) were not even decided.
Thats not missing a deadline - thats a product that was put completely on hold to put attention into other games. I'd like to know why Talisman was put on the backburner by Capcom.
