If you follow the Xbox Live Arcade on a regular basis you've got to admit that Capcom has been very busy lately. Over the last few days Capcom has announced a slew of titles that are heading to the Xbox Live Arcade, with Plunder being one of the latest. The real-time strategy game will allow you to take control of a pirate ship with the sole purpose of destroying enemies and taking control. Capcom has promised "intuitive" online multiplayer gameplay for Plunder, along with 3D to 6D environments. The game is expected to hit the XBLA this summer. Below is the official press release:
Capcom® Entertainment, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced Plunder™ for Xbox LIVE® Arcade, PLAYSTATION®Network and Windows PC. Developed by Certain Affinity™, known for their previous work on the Halo series, Plunder is a real-time multiplayer strategy game that puts players in command of a pirate ship with the goal of destroying your enemies and capturing towns for your pirate faction. Plunder is currently scheduled for release this summer.
“With Certain Affinity at the helm, Plunder has the makings to be an instant classic for the downloadable games market,” said Nique Fajors, Vice President of Marketing at Capcom Entertainment. “Plunder will engross players with its intuitive online multiplayer gameplay, captivating replayablity, and a planned price point that will be lower than most MMO’s monthly dues.”
“Plunder goes beyond the next generation, from 3D to 6D, with cutting-edge hex-based environments that make traditional 3D games weak,” said Max Hoberman, President of Certain Affinity and former Lead Multiplayer Designer for Halo 2 and Halo 3. “If you only get to try one downloadable pirate Action / RTS this summer, check out Plunder.”
Set in a swashbuckling pirate era, Plunder is a casual real-time strategy game that transports players to the turbulent seas of perilous pirates and booty. Players team up with other online players or AI-controlled pirate ships to raid villages, sink merchant ships, seize towns and steal gold, all for the goal of upgrading and customizing your pirate ship and sending your foes to the briny deep. Players will also be able to test their strategic skills against 25 unique challenges and seven of the most devious Pirate Alliances on the high seas. Plunder also enables up to four players to connect on a single console or up to eight players over LAN or internet to join in on the pillaging fun as you build your notoriety amongst the community and fight your way up the leader boards. Players can also master 25 multiplayer maps or create their own and share them with their friends.

I didn't realize Ken Kutaragi* was working at Capcom!?!
Since when did we make the jump to the 6th dimension? Hahaha. PR people suck sometimes.
*For those of you not as nerdy as I, Ken Kutaragi made the mistake of claiming that the PS3 was for the 4th dimension... one of many absurd comments he made in his career.

The game looks like it has potential, but if we don't get to play in the -N space parrallel then I will feel sorely let down by Mr Fajors. PR has gotten over the top with a lot of games, but the whole 6D line is the most ridiculous yet.
Although, I am sure people everywhere will be waiting for this release just to find out what the sixth demension will be defined as...
