I just got my very own shiny copy of Official Xbox Magazine (October 2008) this afternoon. On the cover -- "Finally! The Return of Duke Nukem on Live Arcade!"
Like many of you, I become extremely dubious of anything Duke Nukem related I see these days. Duke Nukem Forever is still vaporware as far as I am concerned (despite word otherwise from 3D Realms) and the possibility of an XBLA version of the original Duke 3D seems just as undependable. We've heard rumors about this game for too long without some sort of confirmation so when I saw the headline I prepped my mammoth sized grain of salt.
Apparently, I was wrong to doubt them this time. Find details of the "confirmation" after the break.

OXM sat down with George Broussard (co-owner of 3D Realms) and he's quoted as saying that XBLA "seemed like the perfect platform [on which to] update and re-release the game." He also states that doing all the work for this XBLA release got them up to speed on all the pieces they'll need to get Duke Nukem Forever certified by Microsoft.
OXM even goes so far as to tease that the game could drop in September.
And if this confirmation's got you interested, consider that this re-release will have 8-player online co-op, recordable (and uploadable) user gameplay clips, Vision camera support for the lobbies, and the ability to rewind time within the single player game. Duke Nukem got a Braid?

Eurogamer also report that the game is fully done and has passed certification, so they're just waiting for Microsoft to assign a release date.
They also reported that George Broussard said the game would cost "about what you'd expect", which would be 800 points (same price as Doom was released at), right?

I hope it isn't an eumlation, but I am guessing it is. Marathon and Quake 2 suffer from poor camera control (compared to current FPS) due to emulating a mouse on the controller. On early levels it isn't a big deal, but at later levels that makes precision shooting very difficult. I am not the best at FPS so this makes some areas of the games almost unplayable for me personally.
Was never a huge Duke 3D fan as it seemed to be over the top just to be over the top and not for any gameplay reason, but I'll give it a shot.
