To War Or To Puzzle, That Is The Question [Update]

Looks like our "Hot August" continues this week with another steaming hot two-fer just one game on tap. Apparently, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will be all alone have some serious competition with the straightforwardly named War World also arriving this week.

I may have looked foolish last week when I predicted a double 800 MSP week only to be slapped down by Jeff Minter himself (well, his blog at least). But this week should be a lock, right? So I will predict that this week's titles will both arrive at a stout 800 MSP, an XBLA first. Please don't make me cry myself to sleep use the strikeout again, I'm begging you.

I ask the masses: Who needs some more multiplayer XBLA games? And will you be warring or puzzling this week? Or, dare I say it, both?

[Update]: Strikeout tool in full effect. War World not coming this week. I'll be crying myself to sleep again.

I'll be buying both this

I'll be buying both this week, assuming they're both excellent. I have no doubts on SPFIITHDR, and I'm highly optimistic about War World.

I STILL haven't decided on whether I want Street Trace or not, but considering these titles, and that I've barely scratched the excellent Space Giraffe from last week, I doubt I'll be boarding around NYC anytime soon.

I predict it'll be the

I predict it'll be the opposite this week and War World will clock in at 1200 points.

SPF looks cool, but I don't know if I need another multiplayer puzzle game already (Hexic 2 multiplayer is awesome). But it will probably be a lot more popular than Hexic 2 which should mean more matches with good connection speed and matching skill levels.

Having never played Super

Having never played Super Puzzle Fighter before, I'm quite keen on SPFIITHDR.

War World, on the other hand, I'm not so sure about. The screen shots look nice, but I've got a nagging feeling that it could be another Novadrome - good concept for an XBLA game, horrendously executed.

I'll download both trials, but I'm probably going to buy SPFIITHDR unless the trial puts me off, and I won't buy War World unless the trial really impresses me.

I'll try both, but warworlds
I'll try both, but warworlds certainly give it a go but those sort of games never hold me for long, and PF might be worth a look....but I'm still waiting for the Amiga classics Sensi and Speedball 2 where are they!?
I am interested in both this

I am interested in both this week, even if War World is 1200 points.

Super Puzzle Fighter I expect to be a huge hit. Hexic 2 has a lot of small but annoying issues and a lot of people just question it worth the 800 points. Puzzle Fighter is a much more interactive multiplayer game which already has a built in fanbase.

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna buy SPF2 just like everyone else. It will top the chart next week, no doubt.

Then we have World War.. I might be fun, we'll see.

War World is already an

War World is already an established game created by Various members who worked on Rare N64 games (Banjo Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64) but left before the whole PD:Z mess.

Wow... may have to pick up
Wow... may have to pick up both of these games. I'm going to get Puzzle Fighter for sure (played it at Comic-Con). Not totally sold on War World. Will try the demo and hope it isn't 1200 points.
1200
We might not get two 800 pointers after all. Since the PC version of War World is $30, it's not hard to imagine the XBLA version being $15.
Great points all. Guess it

Great points all. Guess it depends on if we're getting the exact same amount of content that the PC game has or if it's going to be broken up into DLC packs. We shall see (but must I always be wrong?!?!).

Aren't the Popcap games like

Aren't the Popcap games like 20$ or something when you download them on a computer? And they are still cheap on XBLA, even with the same amount of content (I think).

1200 points might not be such a good idea if they want to sell. I have a feeling that all previous games at that price kind of failed. Correct?
