According to Peter M. it will take millions and millions of gold to buy everything since you can buy pretty much any and everything in the game. Playing the pub games could get you a headstart on things for fable 2 but it can also put you in debt when you start Fable 2.

I usually don't complain about prices, but is it just me or isn't the Pub Games a bit overpriced? I kind of doubt that there's much in store for someone who's not very interested in Fable 2. It's used to promote Fable 2 and for that reason I don't think they should put a 800 pricetag on it. For me it feels a bit like paying them for their marketing plan.

I have yet to see a retailer in my region offering this as a pre-order bonus, which may be the reason for me being a little cynical. Either way, I decide if its worth a purchase after the trial run.

The F2 pub games for the ppl who dont plan on getting fable which you would be stupid not too but they might as well pay $5 to reserve it and never pick it up to get the games than pay $10 for 800 points.

@Dirty Whirlwind: If you aren't going to get Fable II, the Pub Games are rather pointless. They are decent fun, but the major draw is that you can earn money and items in advance for your Fable II character.

There are probably many people like you who can't get the preorder codes due to store locations, so I'm glad they are offering it on the marketplace as well, so everyone gets a chance to earn items for their characters.

There seems to be a large amount of game variants and concept art to unlock as well, so if you enjoy the games, you could get a decent amount of playtime for your money.

Anyone else lost a lot of gold in the Pub Games so far? If I don't start winning I'll not be merging my account when Fable II releases.
